I'm a day 1 public reservation holder in SoCal with a LE R1T, yet I've heard nothing from Rivian other than RJ's emails and the one pre-order gift sent to me. I thought we were suppose to hear from a vehicle specialist to finalizing orders months beforehand. Are you all in the same boat as me?
We're all in the same boat, unfortunately. As I'm sure you've recognized by being such a long (and patient) reservation holder, Rivian's communication is shite.

They've changed their tune on when they'll start contacting people. Customer service is now saying that you won't be contacted until your vehicle is entering the build stage. Which is absolutely ludicrous. I think the whole "guide" thing just hasn't worked. Even those people that got guide assignments have reported that they're almost completely useless.

Like you, I would consider modifications to my build once I can actually talk to someone who will let me know the impact on delivery. But it does not sound like that's going to be an option.

At the risk of getting pointy things thrown at me, I am surviving my now 3+ year wait for my April-May delivery timeline for my wife's R1S by driving my just delivered (ordered January 2021) refreshed Tesla Model X with yoke steering wheel.

Is this the dual motor or the tri motor? Interior is ++. I am a 2020 X Performance driver, like you awaiting 3+ year R1S delivery. (Not April/May, but May/June — ordered 3/19). Go EV.

SE Michigan, reserved mine late 2019. Haven't been invited to an event or a test drive yet. No contact about my truck at all besides the anticipated delivery date.
There are plenty of employees with R1Ts around here, I'm tempted to flag one down and ask if I can take a look/drive. I can't see them offering a test drive program here until spring at the earliest.

I still haven't seen one on the road, but I spend almost all my time north of 26 mile and east of M-24. Maybe if I actually get my hummer soon like my dealer says I'm supposed to I'll drive it down to Plymouth

Is this the Plaid? Love our 2020 X P.

It‘s just the Long Range version, not Plaid, just dual motor. I hear waits on new X are now about 1 year. Long waiting times for the top EVs are going to be a reality for the next several years I suspect.

What a combo you will have. I would not say “just” a long range. One of the best of the best on the road. R1S #1 off road. An “unmatched” pair.

June 2019 Changed from Blue (like the raft) to Launch Edition
Other Changes ...........Racks, Mats
First trip will hopefully be to the ramp
Also hopeful the rods will fit in the gear tunnel at an angel. 6'
Don't care about the sound system or my speaker. Enjoy the silence of the open road.
Any Inquiries regarding my T will be directed to Rivianforums
BTW and FYI Rivian Insurance saved me 25% when I bundled Home and Auto (Cincinnati Casualty was the underwriter not the Bengals)

Hopefully we're about a month out from receiving some communication regarding deliveries. Curious to know how many of you in the April -May have R1S or R1T orders and if you know your preorder number. Wondering if they will be batching deliveries by area.

R1S (LE: LA Silver/Ocean, 22" bright) pre-order #4320 (Dec. 25th 2018) Greater Sacramento Area

Interesting they were specific with the 1st to 1st. That makes me hope mine gets here in May too!

I've done the test drive. Checked in at the Venice Hub. Have a LE Green R1T with Black Int selected. I worry if any other options might unknowingly delay my order. Say the Gear Tunnel Shuttle for instance. What if they don't have that part ready so my reservation isn't being processed? I'd obviously drop that option if I knew it would cause a delay. Would just be nice to hear from someone directly.

I have this fear from a previous bad experience with BMW. I factory ordered a 5 series years back. I had checked the box for the real leather dashboard option that turned out was backordered. No one told me and then I waited 3 months thinking my car was in the production line. Dealer had no real information on it. Only afterwards I find out I wasn't ever scheduled because the factory had no eta on that one specific part. When I eventually was scheduled, factory production was way behind and my initial est. wait of 12 weeks turned into 8 months as I was placed at the back of that current line. 3 months in to that wait, I was told they yet again wouldn't have the leather dashboards and my options were to drop the option or wait infinitely. I waited 8+ months and never even got the option that caused all the delay.

Just could really use a new truck right about now. So it'd be nice to hear from someone at Rivian to at least place an actual order and see more than an est in email.
Most of what you are concerned about will be covered in your conversation with the Guide. Some of the people that have had early deliveries report that some of the accessories will be delivered at a later date. Now, if only the Guides would actually call us early LE customers...

Congrats!

Now I'm going to be Debbie Downer.

I'm convinced that the system they're using for estimates is simply defaulting to the 1st of the month when they look at the screens. I was told April 1st to May 1st by CS. But, I really think it's just that the CS person is seeing the calendar "differently" than they are supposed to. I think they're just supposed to see the "1"s next to each of those months and tell us it could be in either of those months. I think this is why some people are getting a specific range, and others are not.

I'd be thrilled for someone to prove me wrong though.

I specifically asked since my dates for from May to June if it was going to be "JUNE" and I was told its the first portion because I need to plan for a contingency if its looking towards the end of June.

Now with that being said, who knows what it could be right? Jan/Feb is now March/April haha. I sure do hope they stick with the Original time table otherwise things kind of mess up my June.
