Hi Alex, very exciting work you're doing!!

Sorry if this has been asked before or if you mentioned it, but is this only for Gen 1 vehicles or will it also work on Gen 2 vehicles?

I don't think it has been asked and good question. I have a Gen 1 so I'll release for Gen 1 first. From what I understand, the access to a power source on Gen 2 will be a bit more challenging as the passenger fuse box has been moved or deleted. I do have some fixes in my head; just need to get my hands on a Gen 2 and spend some time with it.

email only? I've just been watching this thread to know
Yes, email only (please visit the Website to sign up). There are unfortunately too many outlets to update. I'm sure someone will post it. Or at least I hope!

I would assume you would update your own web site though... I'm not inclined to just give out my email and invite more spam.

Thanks so much, Alex, for the update email you just sent out. Everything looks amazing.

I'm afraid I haven't been following _all_ of the posts on this thread, and I didn't see it in the email... What do you estimate the unit price to be?

I haven't really set a firm price yet, but I have mentioned that it largely depends on how many of each of the components I order (meaning, now many people end up placing an order). These new tariffs won't help I'm sure.

Maybe a ballpark price will help you with your interest gauging.

For me, I am definitely interested. That said, I'd probably be a buyer if it ends up under $300, otherwise I can just get an EV Sportline screen.

I know it is not apples to apples and I definitely like your integrated approach more, but for what I am trying to get out of it, that would be enough.

EV Play Update - March 4, 2025
Hello World!

I hope everyone is doing well and appreciate all the interest in EV Play. I have received, and continue to receive, a huge number of emails as you can imagine, and do apologize if it takes me a bit to get back to you.

A lot of great progress is being made and I'm getting closer and closer to launch. Full transparency, I forgot about Lunar New Year and so that, along with some persistent bugs, has delayed my February launch target. It is looking closer to the first week of April. I'll be sending out additional information before then, including a pre-order link.

I have added 2 new videos to the Website (also linked here and here). The first video shows the switching functionality, which is accomplished via a small wireless remote button. I have mine mounted (double sided foam tape) on the side of the center console, although you could mount it anywhere you want. As you can see, the switching between the Rivian® UI and Ev Play is pretty fast and seamless. There will be other ways to switch in future updates ("Alexa, switch to EV Play/Rivian"), but the button works really well.

The other video shows the touch screen functionality. That's right, I finally cracked the code on getting the touch screen to work, which was one of the last major hurdles. I still have some minor adjustments to make, but I'm super happy about it at this point.

Not to make you all jealous, but with the switching and touch screen functionalities working now, I have been driving around with CarPlay for the past week. I have to say, it has been an absolute dream. Siri is working flawlessly, and I can now send texts, read texts, and make calls, all by voice. It feels like a totally new car and I would be lying to you if I said I didn't shed a small tear given how well everything works. Side note, I never liked Apple Maps on the iPhone but it really is a great experience on CarPlay. I prefer it over Google Maps.

Well, that's all I have for now....got to get back to it. As always, feel free to post these updates on social media, forums, Reddit, etc. I have added a newsletter signup link below and to the bottom of the Website, so those reading this that didn't get this update emailed to them originally, please add yourself using the button below.
