By way of monitoring these forums I've discovered dead zones with charging across particular highway corridors. What do you guys think about an AirBnB style app where you rent out a room and access to a 220volt charger by the hour?
It seems like some of these charging deserts could be navigated with just a little bump to your SoC.
The app works via two types of users: consumers and the service providers. Service providers can sign up to provide the service, much like AirBnB, provided they have a spare bedroom and spare 220volt outlet which EV owners can plug their own level 2 charger into.
Consumers can log on the app, select their route, determine where they need to stop, search for service providers, contact the provider and schedule your time. They show up to the service provider location, plug in and can take a nap, relax, take a shower, uber to a restaurant, watch TV, or otherwise just wait patiently.
This service could be either what you need for a 2-3 hour boost with level 2 charging, or an overnight stay with charging in a location it would otherwise have not been available.
