My manual cover broke a while back. When I took it into service to have it fixed, they accidentally scheduled me for the power and they were halfway done with it before they realized what happened. I’m not sure what to do with the manual one now, except bring it in trips in case the power takes a dump. I think the case is the best part of the manual one.

The power one would have to fail in a way that allows you to use the manual one which probably isn't likely. Recycling might be the best option.

Don't recycle. There are 4 panels and I'm guessing not all 4 broke. Someday someone will crack a plastic piece on the side of a panel and would be able to use a replacement panel. You could sell for cheap or give away a section to help someone out.

The panels are all intact. It’s the POS plastic pieces that are broken.

Why don’t you get it replaced under warranty and then sell it? Sounds like you got the steal of the century with a free powered tonneau cover!

Latch on my Tonneau broke. I figured Rivian would fix it or just replace that panel. They gave me a replacement under warrantee. Gave the original to my grandson. he rejoined the cable and sold it. Not sure exactly how he did it, but it wasn't hard and it was easy to sell.

So you had a manual tonneau cover and somehow got upgraded to a powered tonneau cover? Please tell me how -- that's my dream. With my trailer attached the bed is fairly useless. I cannot open the tailgate with the trailer, and you can't open the manual tonneau without the tailgate open.

Just got very lucky. The service center had me slotted for the retrofit instead of fixing the manual. Pure chance.

My latch broke. Rivian replaced to entire Tonneau and did want the original returned. My grandson rebuilt to attachment and sold to unit. If you are clever it can be refastened.
A short tube with set screws at each end and some Locktite. Perhaps easier said than done, but worth a shot.

Thank you for this. They are sending me a new one under warranty. Told me to recycle the old one. May lost on here for free and see if anyone has a use for it.

Did they say they will support you if the powered one fails? If so, I would just sell the manual one, no need to keep it around.
I'd assume if you had the powered one fully open all 4 panels for the manual one wouldn't fit so don't see there being much use in keeping them.
And what was broken on the manual tonneau and did they fix that as well?
