I am curious to put our R1S to the test of some off-road driving. Has anyone gone out on trails that they would recommend? I'm also curious about driving on a beach if there are any locations that allow it.

check out https://www.emeraldcityrivianclub.com/ for some offroading events. They had a beach day a couple of months ago as well, and there is one in a couple of weeks planned at one of the offroad parks.

Depends on what you're looking for. I've done Stampede Pass and Sun Top lookout with my R1T, both are pretty mild and i'd recommend for a first timer. I use trailsoffroad.com to find trails and get feedback on the road conditions etc.

Let me know how it goes. A few of us did Segment 2 last summer, and I'll be doing 3 in August.
Absolutely! How was 2? And range/charging? Charge in chehalis?

So we couldn't do the entire length of 2, we started just west of Yakima and then went up to Ellensburg.

Been thinking 2 may be better heading south after charging in Ellensburg. Then mostly downhill on 12 back to 5

Would it be unreasonable to do any of those segments in an R1S with 21’s ?
My only concern is the lack of a full size spare on the r1s, regardless of having 21s or the ATs. The performance of the tire wouldn't be the issue.

The BDR is more of an overlanding route though. Generally speaking you'll want to split a segment up over two days or so.

Once packwood gets the upcoming EVITA charger I think it'd be much more doable. Still probably eats up about 80 to 90% of the pack at 122 miles.

It's also only 500 ft downhill between Ellensburg and Packwood, but 15,000 ft of Ascent per Gaia.

It's mostly Forest Service roads so should be ok. I have seen early season videos where some had do deal with washout areas and trees down.
