We have a 1 year old Vizsla that I’m trying to make a bit more comfortable in the back seat. I also have 2 kids and usually will have 2 booster seats in the car. Any idea if this fits I’m on the floor in front of the middle seat in the back?

Old sofa foam core back cushions could do the trick as well if the orvis route is a no go. Could look ugly but the aftermarket options for this need tend to all be not so great looking.

I personally like the storage of this one, foam seems like wasted space.

There was a thread a few months ago where an owner was showcasing the Orvis seat cover being a very good fit. I believe they were also using the extender as well.

I bought something similar on Amazon with storage and found that the driver's seat would crunch it on a normal basis. I'm not that tall, but the storage function was basically worthless because I couldn't access it without moving my seat forward quite a bit. May not be an issue for some, but it was a hassle for me and provided very little extra room for my 75lb mix breed.

We use the Orvis dog Hammock and it works great. I honestly didn’t know about the seat extender, may pick it up.

Assuming it fits/works this seems like an awesome product.

If you do purchase I would love to see some pictures posted. I am in a similar situation.

I bought one - will take some photos when it arrives but I don’t have an R1T yet!

Adding to the thread as I just had 2 of these show up. Got them on the black friday sale for $48/each. I think it's worth noting that these are collapsible but very sturdy, most notably the lids.

For context, I'm 5' 10". After I put them in, I returned my seat to my normal setting and took this picture. It was a little compressed by the seat, but not too bad and would be totally functional. I moved my seat up just a touch for a perfect fit and got in the driver's seat and realized I'm probably sitting just a little too far back day to day anyway so I had it remember the seat setting.

I'd really like them to be level with the edge of the seat to maximize comfort, etc. so I measured the difference and came up with roughly 1 5/16 inches.

Having embraced my inner-Hank Hill years ago, I grabbed some 2x4 scraps from the scrap lumber pile (as one does) and.... hooray, assuming 1.25 degrees is an exceptable margin of error for my dogs.

(Mostly) finished setup here with the cover on (bonus points for the cover from our Q5 fitting the R1T better than it fits the Q5)

Dog (45-50lb) approved. Off to get a pup cup.

Bonus information:

The middle gap can be anywhere from 9-17" depending on where you have the boxes. I'm probably going to find a solution for that area, just not sure what the solution is yet.

Also, 2 Yeti dog bed inserts will fit snuggly, side by side, but there will be some dead space (to the left of the bed in the pic, probably 4"). I think the full bed would be ideal size front to back, but too long, side by side.

That would be Calli (as in Calliope st in New Orleans). Tchoup (Tchoupitoulas) wasn't interested in the photo shoot.
