Just putting this out there hoping that Rivian takes notice...

Amazon Music plays via Alexa currently. This allows access to my music collection and I can specify artists, songs, albums, etc.

The current iteration does not give access to the many podcasts (several ad free) that Amazon Music offers on the phone app.

Of course, I can Bluetooth what I want, but looking at how cool the Audible app screen is in the Rivian, I'd really like something similar for Amazon Music.

Maybe it's tied to meeting a target van delivery number.

As a new Gen 2 owner, I see this as a glaring omission in the vehicle. I don't understand why I can talk to Alexa and have my Amazon music play in the car, yet I have no visual representation of my Amazon music account where I could quickly scan and click on stations or recently played albums I have set up, etc.

Why is there no native Amazon Music app?

Alexa is playing Amazon Music as a 'skill'. If you look at the screen other 'sources' are available via Alexa. This is probably why we do not get the full experience thru Alexa like the other 'real' Music apps currently offered.

I too want a 'REAL' Amazon Music app. When I brought this up during the early days and I sort of got laughed at / talked down to... :(

With the "loud" people finally getting their apps, hopefully people are more open to it now and we Amazon Music people will finally get some love. :)

Ever run or work for a business? You prioritize service that covers the greatest % of total customer base. Then, as resources allow, you expand and move on down the list. Some groups in the list may not be large enough to justify a business case to support.

Furthermore, while Amazon is a large institutional investor, it is not an owner with say on day-to-day decision making power over Rivian. It’s either on the development roadmap or you need to lobby Wassym @ Rivian to show him there is enough demand to justify prioritizing over other works.

I’ve had chronic issues - especially after software updates - with Alexa commands not working at all. Not verbally, not even with the button. No blue line or response whatsoever, just frozen. Sometimes soft resets don’t even fix it, have to do 1 or more full resets to get Alexa back online.

Without a native Amazon Music app, this *completely* cuts me off from my music library, and I have voiced this concern. Especially concerning is that I will now be paying a C+ subscription for music/features I can’t even access via said subscription.

I’ll continue to request Service when it happens, to make sure the frequency is documented. If others have experienced the same issue, I hope they will also speak up & be heard.
