<entitled sad noises>

Weird, because the last couple were pushed right when the rest of the herd here got theirs. Wonder what I have done to upset the distro gods.
Yes you have upset the distro gods. And now you must sacrifice an ice vehicle for atonement.

So I just learned something while trying to understand why my truck wasn't downloading the OTA, and status on Rivian Roamer dashboard showing "connection lost".

Every time you do a reset, which I did recently to resolve a infotainment glitch, WiFi defaults to ON (I didn't know this). And since there are no known networks available for the truck to connect to, current software isn't smart enough to instruct to the truck to look for and use Connect+. That, is why it wasn't downloading the OTA. Rivian should revise software so the truck knows to look for alternatives.

So if you've gotten the push but your Rivian isn't downloading, check its WiFi setting.

Wait, what??? You were expecting to use rally mode for “everyday day driving”?!? Maybe you don’t fully understand what rally mode is…. I have used it on the beach in my Tri motor and it was fun as hell but in no way would you use that on a public road. SMH ?
I wanna use rally mode on the mountain roads of WV, yeah baby. ?

If there is no wifi connection, it will just use the LTE connection. Even without connect+, the LTE connection remains active and the vehicle can update from it, but it might be a "last in the line" sort of situation.

Not in my case. The OTA just sat at "connection lost" as if the vehicle has no connection at all. I could still access the live gear guard feeds via Connect+. The software just isn't smart enough to utilize Connect+ to download the OTA when it has no luck with WiFi. It just sat there assuming WiFi is the only path when WiFi is set to ON. It did this two or three OTAs ago too, when WiFi was set to ON without me being aware of it. The previous one, WiFi was OFF when it received the push. And the whole thing downloaded fine on Connect+.

The connection lost status just means it failed at some point.

You’re right, I’ve been paused. Never seen that before.

Me neither but have seen some scary reports on Reddit post-update, including a bricked truck. So they may have slowed/paused roll out. I'm holding off until my road trip next week even if the notification does come.

me neither...

the hands free feature is appealing but i'd be happier if Rivian can map out more roads - this is more important to me than hands free...

Those with Connect + come before (or should) before those without....but everyone can't be first. It's typically better to let the early recipients test-drive the OTA's for a few days anyhow depending on your risk tolerance. That said, this OTA installed without issue and resolved the inability to lock the rear screen which presented as a bug with the last OTA. Other than that, for a Gen 1 R1T, it's MEH.
Great, my side mirrors will pivot down in reverse (turned it off after a day). Opening the charge port from the app is OK, but similarly unnecessary.
I'd still like to see PIN to drive, a decent valet and/or teen mode, and continued improvement in vampire-drain and charging speed. Best vehicle I've owned (out of many) so far....
