After three months, range is better (maybe warmer weather). Recent trip of 304miles (with 25 to spare) going 60-70mph in Conserve mode and some headwinds on the AT 20's. This is much better than my 2018 Model 3 .

With the 21’s, I’ve been seeing very similar efficiency to my ‘20 Model Y Perf (usually around 2.6-2.8 miles/kWh in that car). So I’ve been very impressed overall, and look forward to seeing if I can eek out similar range to this on trips!

Conserve mode, 21” wheels. Speed was 65-72 on interstates…

I just returned recently from a round trip from Houston to Colorado Springs via Kansas following EA along I 35 and I 70.

My RT is on the 20 inch ATs and it was loaded with three adults and full luggage. 80% was on Conserve mode and the rest in All purpose. Only a few miles in Rock crawl. Very comfortable on long road trip in all seating positions. The charging stops made the trip less exhausting. Total electricity purchased was $204.20.

I’m pretty happy with the 20” AT efficiency on my recent road trip. A mix of hills and some off road too. Most of the mileage was in conserve mode though.

Comments like this, and Alex’s video, give me hope that the R1T is going to be even easier to live with than I thought. I’m mostly planning to drive in Conserve mode with 80% battery. That extra range will make drives from Denver to DFW a lot more possible. I just need those Tesla Superchargers in Clayton, NM to open up for use by Rivian.

For those that don’t know, driving from Denver to Dallas it problematic due to almost no chargers between Trinidad, CO and Amarillo, TX. Tesla bridged that gap with a Supercharger in Clayton, NM but if you don’t have a Tesla, its better to drive I-70 through Kansas and come down I-35 to DFW, but it’s a longer trip.
