Interesting idea but not seeing how a full BEV will benefit unless the camper has a means of sending a charge (solar, gas generator) instead of drawing off power. This concept does work nicely with setup like Ford's "Powerboost" onboard generator that allows the engine to run periodically while parked. That drives motor to keep battery charge up. Getting the larger fuel tank amplifies that benefit.

I wonder if we'll see the tailpipe relocated as a result of these type of products? Most trucks exhaust at the right rear -- into where the camper door opens and most people setup their chairs and grill.

Not sure I follow your statement at all. What they are proposing is a camper that is self propelled. Here is another recent article on the subject.

Super cool. If it uses a standard protocol to interface & communicate w/ the EV's ECU and power management for both acceleration and breaking...sweet!
Electric assist should be simple & will likely have adjustable levels. Braking will use variable strength the same way traditional electric trailer brakes work, except hopefully with as much regen as possible instead of mechanical.
