Hey Everyone,

Jake from Cinch here! I'm thrilled to announce that our highly sought-after Air Cruiser rooftop tent is back in stock. The Rivian community cleared our inventory much earlier in the season than we expected, but it's now available again—with a special discount this week only!

To celebrate your support and July 4th, we're offering an incredible $600 off for our Rivian community with the code RIVIAN600 at https://air-cruiser.cinchpopuptents.com/?utm_campaign=rivian This offer is live for this week only, so if you've been thinking about getting one, now is the perfect time!

We first launched the Air Cruiser on Kickstarter last year, and it's been a hit ever since. Many Rivian owners have shared their fantastic experiences right here on this forum.

Why the Air Cruiser is Perfect for Your Rivian:

  • Perfect Fit: It fits the Rivian truck bed perfectly with minimal range loss thanks to its lightweight design.
  • Compact Design: Leaves extra room on your roof bars for additional gear.
  • Aesthetic Match: The clean lines of the Air Cruiser complement the Rivian’s design beautifully.
Key Features:
  • Spacious Interior: More headroom than any other tent on the market.
  • Breathtaking Views: Six doors and windows offer unobstructed, panoramic views.
  • Easy Setup: Uses your Rivian’s power to self-assemble – no poles or pumps needed.
  • All-Season Performance: Designed to perform in all climates and conditions.
What Our Rivian Customers Are Saying:

I’ve used a large hard shell rooftop tent for a number of seasons but was forced to leave it on the vehicle year-round due to its weight. When I discovered the Air Cruiser’s weight, I was cautiously optimistic. This would allow me to remove it off-season and not have the wear and tear from taking it everywhere. I was also looking forward to being able to use covered garages again.

When the Air Cruiser arrived, the installation on the vehicle couldn’t be simpler. We were off on our first camping trip with it the next day. While it hadn’t been a factor in my decision to purchase the tent, initially, I underestimated the value of the use of compressed air as the structure for the frame. I ended up finding it so easy to set up and take down the tent that I was able to use the vehicle during the day when with the previous tent I would leave it set up on the vehicle and that was that, a significant compromise with rooftop tents. With the Air Cruiser auto-inflating, it gave me more time to do other camp setup tasks.

My kids sleep in the tent while I’m in the vehicle below. They love how tall the interior volume is and how the large sunroof allows for light and visibility. I could barely get them down for breakfast. I like that there are no support rods to hold up canopies, which on my last tent would pop out and damaged the roof more than once. The Air Cruiser complements my Rivian perfectly.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask away. Happy camping!

Jake

Sure it works great with the R1S and all of the advantages of Air Cruiser are the same for the R1S. In fact, the review on the post is actually from a customer who has the R1S.

Once you plug it in, it takes around 3 minutes to inflate but you have nothing to do, there are no poles to insert for the canopies or any fiddly bits like that. You can just sit and have a beer, set up camp etc

To get it to that stage, all you need to do is take the cover off, unfold it and set the support brackets which takes around 1-2 minutes.

Take down is even quicker, you just release the air and the tent collapses 1-2 seconds. Fold the tent over and put the cover on.

All roof top tents should be very quick to put up and down but what I really like about the Air Cruiser are that there are annoying parts to set up and take down. I hate the metal poles that most use for the canopies.

Cheers,

Jake

Unbiased owner not paid for his 2 cents.

This is accurate, if not conservative. It's literally that easy!

The hardest part about this tent is getting it mounted to the cross-bars, and only because I'm an Engineer, so I wanted it to be mounted to within 1/16" centered in both directions (there's NO reason for that level of precision!!) :D Anyway, even that is easy to do.

And there are threads everywhere about building nifty ceiling hoists that makes removing and re-attaching to the truck a breeze. So long as you don't need your crossbars for anything else, it makes a weekend camping trip (as far as grabbing your tent and going) a really easy endeavor.

Seriously, stupid easy :)

Where is it made?
The Air Cruiser is the result of a collaboration between Cinch and Wildland. Wildland, an incredible and innovative company based in China, manufactures the Air Cruiser. We're proud to say that Cinch is a US entity with roots in the UK, bringing together the best of both worlds.

Is it possible to have the tent on the roof of an R1T or does the antenna get in the way? I wasn’t able to see any pictures of it on the roof on your site.

Hi,

It fits on the roof no problem. I'll see if I can pull up some pics, most for it on the truck bed.

My worry is that by camping buddy, my dog, will poke a hole in it somewhere, accidentally. Have you heard of punctures?

They are extremely robust. Think of the air frame more akin to something like a tire than an air bed. They are also easily replaceable but we’ve not had to replace one yet :)
