Yes, that is how they list them on their website for the dual standard model. If you go to a Rivian Store, they have the tires all lined up so you can compare them. They look a lot like the 20" Pirelli all terrain tires. I had those on my truck for a while but I think these are a better all around tire. I haven't had a chance to do any serious offroading with them.

Yes, that is how they list them on their website for the dual standard model. If you go to a Rivian Store, they have the tires all lined up so you can compare them. They look a lot like the 20" Pirelli all terrain tires. I had those on my truck for a while but I think these are a better all around tire. I haven't had a chance to do any serious offroading with them.

Wait, serious off-roading? I’d say that if your tire weighs less than 50# then don’t even consider SORing…

Interesting, because I was thinking I'd need to get the 20" pirelli AS in the 115 to have a tire that matched the 22" AS for gen2. Do you think they are sandbagging the efficiency for the Goodyear OEM tires? I did the math a while ago on the range hit with the goodyears based on the range estimations on the rivian site. And extrapolating out on the max packs, which they can't be configured with, it looked to be about a 17-20 mile range hit as opposed to the 50 mile range hit for the ATs.

Again, the experience with Tesla has shown me that a taller rubber wall, 19s versus 21s, the smaller diameter tire wins considerably. And beyond that, within the 19-in options, the snow tires, which were half to an inch more narrow than the all seasons, got even better range within that size.

Hard to say if they are sandbagging or now. I just post what I see. It might be more impactful to range on the G2 trucks than the G1. From what I understand, how they ran the EPA tests differ between G1 and G2. If what I read is accurate, they ran the test in conserve mode on the new trucks where as the previous figures were actually a blended results of modes. If this is accurate, then it is much harder to accurately compare the range of the G1 ad G2 trucks if just using the EPA test results.

I've found based on my experience, the faster you go, the less the difference will be as the aero drag consumes far more of your energy expended. So what might be a 30 mile range difference at lower speeds can shrink to a lot less like 10 miles. So two takeaways, slow down if you need more renge and higher speed energy consumptions is more dependent on aero drag than tire choice (within reason).

I've seen the same in the Tesla world as you. There are a lot more differences with truck/SUV tire tread design & purpose (off road, street, AS/AT/etc.), tread depth depth, load ratings, number of plies, a huge variation in weight, etc. that can really impact more than just tire diameter with respect to efficiency.

There is obviously no one perfect tire for everything. I have no experience with the new 22's other than a few hours in them. I've been very happy with my Goodyears and didn't hate my factory 21's but the Territory AT's are better for my current usage.
