The R1T is a platform we quickly fell in love with, and wanted to preserve as much of its great styling as possible. The door sills of any truck are often the most worn out paint surface early on, as they're subject to our constant foot traffic and the debris that comes with it.

The idea behind our billet aluminum door sills is to protect that surface while also adding a hint of sophisticated style - which you can take a step further via the custom engraving option (please order custom engraved, the laser engraver is so much fun). We originally made a set just for our own R1T, but since we liked them so much we decided we should offer them up to other Rivian owners as well.

Are they a completely necessary product? We won't lie. No, they are not.
But do they look awesome? You bet.

We include a VHB adhesive, as well as some adhesion promoter to prep the surface. Once those are used properly, you don't have to worry about them coming loose and slipping off! Removal can still be done with adhesive remover and plastic tools in order to protect the sill, if anyone chooses to remove them - but now that we have them on our R1T, we can't imagine the truck without them.

I had something similar in my old Ridgeline. You're right - totally unnecessary (I never step there when getting in and out so it's actually the least worn area of my truck), but it is indeed totally awesome. Because i had it engraved as well, I removed them before trade in. They would've been tossed by the new owner anyway.

Great idea, and I like the option to customize the sills. I couldn’t find it mentioned in your post or on your website - does the price include a set of 4 sills?

Our anodizing line is in-house, so we have some flexibility if requested!

At the moment, our tanks are set up for black, blue, clear and etched. It sounds like clear would be what you're looking for! We have one more tank that has yet to be used, and it could potentially be used for Rivian orange/yellow to match the logo and color scheme of the truck. That being said, we would need to see a certain demand before we commit the tank to that because it is quite expensive!

Man, these look cool as heck. My boots hit that area constantly. I've currently got clear vinyl covering it, but definitely putting these on my Christmas list.

$3 of Xpel no slip door sill protection tape on mine does the same job with considerably less style.
