I drove another R1T that other day. The accelerator pedal was noticeably more responsive, with less movement required, than on my 2023 R1T. I really liked It! It just felt crisper. I got back in my rig and it seemed like much more pedal travel was required to get an equivalent response. For the first mile or so in the other truck, I thought maybe it could get a little annoying, being so sensitive to inputs. However, I quickly decided I really liked it. It wasn’t really about driving more aggressively, at all. It just felt more natural, to me, to have a little more direct connection to the motors.

I wonder if there is any way to adjust this feature. Could Rivian offer a software update that would allow a driver to select different modes? Surely, they could, as they already have a different setting for Sport, Snow, etc. modes. Maybe, in the All Purpose mode, they could offer three different accelerator pedal setting options, like they do for ride height, regen, etc. I can see where different people might like different levels of accelerator pedal sensitivity. Maybe those who have a hard time adjusting to 1 PD could more easily find a happy place.

Early ones had to be reprogrammed to prevent the computer from thinking they are being pressed while parked and keeping the car awake. It begs to why the accelerator has power while the car is off and why the ECU even would pay attention to it or even being awake either. Don't get me started on the stupidity of how this car is wired.

This might sound dumb…and it may just be in my head…BUT I swear when I turn the regen up the accelerator requires more pedal force to go. In other words, I wonder if you would have quicker acceleration from a stop if regen is turned down.

I usually have mine set to high regen. I also had the other truck set to high regen. It was a Rivian loaner. I was using all the same performance settings as I usually do on my truck. There was just noticeably less foot movement required in that loaner. BTW, they are both quad motors.
