Morning, I was browsing my vehicle data on ABRP this morning, went to change my tire size and noticed all the R2 variants are listed and place holders have been added for R3 and R3X

No listing for battery capacities, but still give us a general idea of how the variants will be configured.

Boy will an R2 or R3 tri-motor be spicy!

I did a quick trip in ABRP using R2 Large Pack. It says I would arrive at my destination at 8% SOC after travelling 215 miles. 215/92% = 233 miles from 100-0%. Seems kind of low...

That does seem a little low.
I'm hoping for maybe ~350-400 miles, but guessing that would be on the single motor large. We'll need the all wheel drive and I'd like the tri-motor. A tri-motor with >325miles would be realistic I hope.

ABRP added R2, R3 and R3X a week after the unveil. Sadly for us the numbers they used are based on battery size guesses and efficiency estimates we saw during the presentation.


“ Using only publicly available data, we have modeled these vehicles [R2, R3 and R3X] to provide you with an early representation of their capabilities. You can now use ABRP, to explore and and dream about owning one of these highly anticipated vehicles!”

It’s pretty cool to see them there though.

Temps? Elevation? I'm not expecting a very big battery in R2 "stock configuration". Gotta keep the # of cells low to keep the price low, imo. 🤷

When I put them in I see the following efficiencies:

Single Motor: 3.35mi/kWh
Dual Motor: 3.25mi/kWh
Tri Motor: 3.18mi/kWh

Assuming a 100kWh large pack, you'd end up with 318 to 335 miles. Not bad.

I'd guess 70kWh for the standard pack and about 90kWh for the large pack. That would give the single-motor a range over 300 miles with the large pack. Seems reasonable to me.

And with pricing dropping at the current rate and larger/more efficient batteries I think that a production cost of around $100/KwH is possible.
