Gaming the system? A few Lyft rides shouldn’t suddenly allow massive tax savings

I think Lyft gives EV drivers a discount at EA too.

I’ve always been curious, how much more is insurance/is it more difficult to obtain?
Insurance for when you're doing rides is provided by the service. There are some additions you can put on your normal insurance to cover you while you're online waiting for a ride, but I haven't needed them.

When you're not online you just have normal insurance from your traditional provider

I was surprised by the lack of tips. I always tip, especially in California where gas is expensive.
Yea, I think it's because it's a nicer truck but idk

UberXL (7 seat belts)
R1S probably would qualify for XL. Unfortunately theres more to it than just 7 seatbelts cause my X doesn't qualify for XL. probably leg room or storage capacity or something too. But the R1S is bigger so it'd probably be good

So am I reading it correctly that about half of the people didn't leave a tip? Ridiculous.

If kept at standard height and with judicious acceleration/deceleration, premature tire wear can be mitigated. FWD isn’t the only ingredient for wear.
I have never understood why conserve would be an issue if the tires are rotated.

Sure. Let's jut let the billionaires and politicians continue to game the system.

You won't get massive tax savings unless over 50% of the miles added in a given year are business use (needed to trigger 179, bonus depreciation, or the commercial EV Credit). Even then the deduction or credit is pro-rated by your business/total miles.

They do, and once it's on your EA account, it's there. I haven't given a Lyft ride since November - but the discount code is still active. It's not as good as the paid subscription, but it's definitely better than the normal rate.

There's a similar discount program available for EVGo.

Yes, R1S qualifies for XL. Also qualifies for Uber Comfort Electric (need an established high driver rating too) - that and XL are definitely the best paying ride type for my R1S. But you still have to be picky - it's never worth it unless there are promotions or surge being offered (or unless you get lucky with good tippers).

R1T, Glacier White, Black Mountain, Black AT 20s,
As a dual motor guy that has no choice but to only use the front motor most of the time......I'm reasonably certain the drive wheels don't make the difference. My suspicion is that the ride height is what causes the wear, more so than the drive wheel decision. I RARELY use the "low" setting for the height (I have no conserve mode either). Even on the interstate I keep it in "standard" and "soft" pretty much all the time.

I'm almost 14k miles into ownership on the 20in AT's, and I'm getting decently even wear all around. It's still relatively fast wear (over 50% gone at 14k), but it's mostly even across all 4 tires.
It’s both. Using conserve mode (incorrectly) or just the front motors will wear the front tires quicker….but it depends how you drive. If you are not fast accelerating regularly, it provident matter much. Also, as for ride height, your alignment is typically based upon the normal (mid) setting….so spend too much time in another height setting and you are driving around a heavy vehicle which is not aligned…

It's definitely all about the bonuses and tips!
