Conserve definitely makes a difference (it’s using only the 2 front motors instead of all 4), but the general consensus is that you will also wear out your front tires faster if you use it all the time. I’m sure there are more factors involved to get that result, but I generally only use conserve on longer highway trips.
If kept at standard height and with judicious acceleration/deceleration, premature tire wear can be mitigated. FWD isn’t the only ingredient for wear.

Could you repeat the test, but standard drive mode and drive ultra chill. In city driving, I don't expect conserve mode to save much energy as you're constantly accelerating and braking. The energy saved in city driving is minimizing how much you accelerate and brake. It's constant speed driving on the highway where I'd expect the gains to be. No changes in speed and in standard mode with all motors going, the rears are basically adding more losses because the system is not 100% efficient.

Yea, if I was to guess why it's so good, I would say that the reduced amount of power available when going from a stop and decreased resistance from 2 motors being disconnected makes a pretty big difference. In all purpose even when i try to accelerate chill, it's nothing like the conserve mode acceleration, and just watching the bars on the tires, it looks like more power goes to the front then when starting from a stop than on AP but since the rears are getting nothing, it's probably better still.

I'm going to go do lyft either tonight or tomorrow too and I'll try in just AP, can't promise the drives will be anything like the ones from yesterday but I'll report back

Amazed the OP is using a Rivian to be a Lyft or uber vehicle.
Why? lol

I love driving it, its not like a full time job or anything

Between my solar production and the low running cost, it's a lot of profit, plus it allows me to use the vehicle as a business vehicle for tax purposes

I wonder what would happen if you tried driving in snow mode, ha. I think that cuts the power delivered for a given pedal input. And less regen.

I'm more surprised Lyft allows a pick-up truck to be used. Was under impression Lyft and Uber do not allow it.

I think the requirement is 4 doors and 5 seatbelts. As long as it has that it's good.

I do miss out on some cool modes though like the more luxury modes my X has.
An R1S' would get the big rides and the luxury rides I bet.

R1S should qualify for Uber Black, I'd imagine.

That’s mind blowing:
Ride payments were less than $1 per mile, luckily the bonuses/tips were ~$105.
Without those you’d be paying $40 per hour to move people…even with the extras, when all is said and done it’s $10/hour effective profit…wild, really just a tax write off I guess?

I only drive when there are boosts.
Electrical cost to move is negligible since my entire electrical bill is covered by my excess solar.

But if I paid it, it would've only been like $8.5

I’ve always been curious, how much more is insurance/is it more difficult to obtain?
