So I took the truck out for a night of Lyft driving and I pretty much always use all purpose. (22 quad adventure)

Today though, I decided to try out conserve in standard + auto suspension.

It was 46F out and I drove 76 miles with an efficiency of 3.12 mi/kwh!!! I had the heat set to 73 and my seat set to cool low.

I'm still learning this truck as I've only had it since April, but that feels wild to me! I'm normally under 2 in AP.

It was darn near as efficient as my X. (Usually just under 300wh/mi)

Obligatory pics

Conserve definitely makes a difference (it’s using only the 2 front motors instead of all 4), but the general consensus is that you will also wear out your front tires faster if you use it all the time. I’m sure there are more factors involved to get that result, but I generally only use conserve on longer highway trips.

As a dual motor guy that has no choice but to only use the front motor most of the time......I'm reasonably certain the drive wheels don't make the difference. My suspicion is that the ride height is what causes the wear, more so than the drive wheel decision. I RARELY use the "low" setting for the height (I have no conserve mode either). Even on the interstate I keep it in "standard" and "soft" pretty much all the time.

I'm almost 14k miles into ownership on the 20in AT's, and I'm getting decently even wear all around. It's still relatively fast wear (over 50% gone at 14k), but it's mostly even across all 4 tires.

It's using both motors at low speeds, which is where most of the tire wear happens.

I agree there is definitely a ride height factor too. In low there is increased camber that would also contribute to tire wear.

Way too many factors to draw a solid conclusion. I also think Rivian has mitigated this issue somewhat via software updates. It seems like we heard that complaint more in the first couple years.

Great numbers! But I would be weary of increased tire wear in a city environment which I imagine is where you do most of these rides? Unless you drive super duper gently and accelerate and decelerate very gradually.

What Lyft banner are you using here? I've been thinking about adding that.

Also, do you have a dashcam that includes an interior camera? That seems like a CYA that I am also probably going to get.

You get to pick how many rides you think you can hit in the allotted time and when you succeed they give you a bonus.

Conserve definitely makes a difference (it’s using only the 2 front motors instead of all 4), but the general consensus is that you will also wear out your front tires faster if you use it all the time. Yea this was pretty much all city and I was actively trying to to drive super chill so as to not add too much more wear. I was watching the power levels in AP mode and it looks like it leans pretty heavily front wheel normally (based on the colors that fill the tires from a stop) so I decided to give it a shot. I think I'll rotate my higher tread tires to the front so I can rock it like this more often. I did a highway test and while it was better, it was no where near 3.

I grabbed a random led matrix panel and custom made it. It's behind my eyebrow so it's kinda hidden

Let a bunch of randos ride in my R1T...hard pass.
Yea, I was pretty hesitant when I first got into it in my model Y, but I've not had any issues in 5 years with people messing up my vehicles.

I usually use my X but the T is more fun lol
