I do not think anybody has verifiable data for this.
Then it is not a fact that Rivian has a QC and design flaw problem. It is an opinion based on personal experience.

The truck is a very special product with almost no competition right now...
Sierra EV, Silverado EV, Hummer, Lightning, etc. It has plenty of competition.

I drove the Silverado the other day for shits. Truck is incredible. Lightning is meh.

Depends on the needs, I do not need a full size truck. But I see your point.

I need to test drive Silverado

I’m in one now as a rental. It’s a solid truck. I appreciate it for what it is. If I needed a full-size again it would be on my list

It’s enormous, and you feel the weight, but the range is fantastic and it’s got a bit of oomph. This being a rental the base spec interior is decidedly Meh, but hey - CarPlay.

Not the same animal as the R1T though. Not even the same class. Having a bed is about where the similarities end.

That is my problem - I do not really need a full size truck. But having a house, backyard, etc - a small truck is really useful, and Rivian fits the bill. Dog mode is a must, I have a dog, and use it when I go to super market, or another place.

When I was upset with Rivian, I ordered MY Juniper. Did many test drives. Good car, but ... except FSD (that is AMAZING), I can not really say anything exceptional about it. So I probably will not buy it, and just give Tesla my $250 deposit :)

I am pretty sure Rivian will not survive w/o an additional influx of money. I just hope that it is big enough and someone will take over if they file Chapter 9. They have assets, at least.

They won’t go chapter 9. Someone would buy them. Maybe VW. They have a good product idea. They just have zero OPs leadership.

Yes, Rivian has a lot they must improve on, i.e. communication, service windows, QC. All of this has been, and will continue to be discussed here. You have been a member since 2020, then post this, “had I known if all the shortcomings, the 3 month wait for service, the attitude of fellow owners, the self righteousness, I never would have supported the brand.”. You should have known better.

not excusing any of Rivs or other forum members faults. you could have done more research, your due diligence before taking delivery. I hope they fix all of the issues you have encountered with your Riv.

they burned 23B to this day. I incorrectly said debt - I meant burned money vs revenue. They is no way they can pay it back.
They can start by stopping the stupid shit they’ve been doing lately. They can’t keep continuing this behavior like they’ve got Tesla money. SXSW, and orange juice partnerships as examples

Spend the money on service centers...

Honestly, at this point I thinking buying was the right option for me. It put a lot less money at risk if things go sideways financially at Rivian. I am hoping that won't happen but have 60k at risk is a lot better than 110k.

The cost of fixing the production QC issues at the service center, along with loaner vehicles must be killing them. How soon until they really tighten up on that?

We all understand what the impact of all the R2s could be on the service network. If service isn't scaled up, and QC is an issue, it will all implode.

As someone relatively new to the community, I read through some of the issues but didn't fully understand the extent of the problem until I owned one. I just scheduled another service appointment a week ago and I am somewhere in July to get in. About 14 weeks!

Call them and ask for an early appointment. In most cases, you will get one.
In Austin, the nearest appointment is .... "No appointments available".

I just test drove a tri-motor and was seriously impressed. The power of it is absolutely insane, borderline excessive. I was able to break rear traction on dry concrete.

Only issues I noticed was the steering alignment was slightly off and it was pretty squirly on 20" ATR.

I feel they mostly come with steering wheel alignment (and in many cases actual wheel alignment) off. Mine came off and was fixed by SC.
