Just had mobile service perform identical services on my R1t. Have to admit the inspection is pretty basic but need to remember what we are paying for is the trained tech that knows what to look for. It was a very positive experience.

Yes, I understand and agree, I just thought that the inspection would have been a covered service.

I was told they have to remove the wheel for a proper inspection. They could not explain why it cost $10 to move each wheel six feet over.

(My Kia EV6 GT-L inspections have been covered by warranty for the last 32,000 miles.)

I paid the same as you. This was for a mobile appointment at my home.

Honestly, just do not get why you guys give up on your money so easily - just go to discount tire and do a free rotation. Did it a few times, no problem, they use pucks, all good. As for multipoint inspection, it is so basic (and not mandatory or required), so why bother? They do not even pull the error codes from the ICU, just visually inspect the car...

P.S The problem here is SC (including mobile) have a huge bottleneck and such requests only add to the load. 3 months to wait for any service here in Austin, Dallas, San Antonio.

Any other car I own (BMW, Honda) perform multi-point inspection FOR FREE. Comprehensive inspection (pre-purchase) costs $249 (BMW) and they gather much more info.

Ha! You might be the first person in history to think I give away my money easily.

1) They came to my house - very convenient and saved me a ton of time. Time is money for me.
2) Our Discount Tires in my area are terrible. Wouldn't ever let them touch my truck.
3) Multipoint found a leaking CV boot, and a couple other small items I would have never found, will repair/replace under warranty.
4) They did a test-drive and decided to replace my jounce lines
5) They proactively scheduled a service appointment and loaner to take care of all of the above.

Well worth every penny.

Right, in this case probably it was worth it. First time I actually hear that mobile inspection found anything :)

End of January. None of it is urgent, so it works for me. Would be annoying if anything was critical.

The end of January is golden - 3 -4 months waiting in TX. :(
I need to replace jounce lines (but technically it has no effect on driving). Just suspension noises.
So decided to wait till they solved the SC bottleneck.

Be careful with discount tires I went twice and had issues both times they say they know how to lift the Rivian with the pucks. but they don't have a clue. the used the bolt holes on the battery pack both times. I watched them like a hawk the second time and stopped him before he lifted the truck and had to crawl down and show him where to properly place the pucks.

Exactly. Some Discount Tires are fantastic, quite a few have proven to be utterly clueless. So much so, we had to create emblems for the jack point locations.

7500 inspection is not free.
I had one recently at $176 after taxes.
They found issue with CV boot and replaced half-shaft under warranty.

I get my tires rotated at Discount Tire for free.
