Dunno if this is a first, but the only other video I have seen is a gen2 NACS R1.

Hardly a demanding scenario in terms of power this evening, but freshly commissioned Sigenergy stack with the EVDC module and a gen1 Rivian R1T v2x powering part of the house through the Rivian provided DC Tesla-NACS converter dongle.

It works :)

Who did you get to install? Seems to be only 2 installers in the US according to the Sigenergy website.

I hadn’t looked at their site. Locally Neil Kelly is installing them. I stumbled into all of this. I didn’t even know SigEnergy/PointGuard or their EVDC bi-di system. I needed a new roof and Neil Kelly was the only place I found here which would take off and save my old solar, put on a new roof, and put on new solar. They install a variety of vendors’ equipment.

Was there a successful user in that thread besides TrueDad? He’s NACS gen2.
TrueDad is CCS, not NACS. He uses the same charger unit on both R1S and Mach-E.

Note that the 2025s are Gen2 with CCS; 2026 is Gen2 with NACS. TrueDad has a 2025, so CCS. (You can also see the plug in multiple shots in his videos - it's clearly too big to be NACS.)

There's no reason it should fail to work with a Gen 1.

Ah. I thought the R1 with charge door open and disconnected looked like NACS in the videos I watched. But I didn't look super close.

Congrats on your system! That's awesome!

The CCS standard is inherently bi-directional charging compatible. The limitation has always been, as far as I know, the equipment on the home side. My buddy who bought a Ford 150 Lightning was all into this and looking to use some home-side equipment that I think Ford offered. I wasn't aware that this particular option was available, but it's not surprising that there would be a demand for these, and so eventually third-party vendors would step up to help meet that demand.

Presumably, any CCS vehicle that fully supports the CCS standard would be compatible with it.

I hope we see more of these in the future, and that demand and competition help to drive innovation and compatibility/ease of setup and use.

Even before CCS officially added V2X, really the fact that it's making a direct DC connection between battery and charger means it can pull power out of the battery instead of putting power in.

Wasn't it stated by Rivian that Gen 1 vehicles (if not all so far, I can't remember that specific) are only DC V2L capable and not AC V2L?
