Had the Gen 1 Quad R1S for about a year and wasn't planning on getting a gen 2. However they gave us a decent price for our Gen 1 Quad and the Dunes were now able to take advantage of the 3000 electric refresh offer (and apparently now the 6500 pay down payment now too. Missed it by a week). Loving it so far other than the high beams going out and needed a replacement headlight . Eastvale was fast and replaced it in one day as well as aligned the door handles.

Congrats!

I was told no $3000 refresh but yes to $6500 down payment.

I test drove one and was super impressed by how stable it was during acceleration. My 23 R1S quad felt squirrelly.

Agreed! The fit and finish of the dune was also much better than the gen 1 we had as well. I wasn't expecting that with all the negative things said about gen 2.
How do you like the carpet alternative? That's one of the things I wish they would consider bringing to other trims.

This is one of my favorite features of the Dune. Frustratingly, there is still carpet on the seat back and in the cargo area (a big miss IMO). I think Rivian would do well to morph the Adventure trim into a higher-durability get-it-dirty set of materials that includes this new flooring material to replace all of the carpet.

I like the new carpeting as well. I have two kids so the dirt gets everywhere and it's easier to vacuum up. Especially on the side of the driver/passenger seat.

I also dont mind the different headliner that's not the microsuede/alcantara feel. Youtube reviews said it felt cheap but it's the same textile feel as what's on my audi. It doesn't feel as nice to touch but it is far from a budget rental car headliner.

Wheels weren't my cup of tea. Plus the R800's have 275/60/20 so it's better for range.:)

100% agree and I was going to ask that initially if that was also done, but knew they likely didn't.

When I had a loaner R1S, I definitely felt like the back cargo area was a bit too "Precious" for an adventure vehicle. I felt overly concerned about getting dirt onto the carpet, especially wood splinters from some of the firewood we brought for camping.

Part of me wishes Rivian adopted the cargo area from my old Nissan Xterra. Both had an under floor storage panel, and both had a similar rail system along the sides, I think Nissans was called the "Utilitrack"? but Nissans cargo area was more drop stuff in and don't worry about getting it dirty, because it was easy to wipe down. I get it from a luxury standpoint, but the carpet seems a bit of a miss on the Adventure ethos.

Wish you well with the Dune. It's a compelling package for the current price but the color is not my cup of tea to each his own. I'm sure you'll enjoy many happy adventures.

Congrats! I am in process of doing something similar--trading in my '23 R1T quad/max --> '25 R1T Dune.

I also have a '23 R1S, and went and test drove the '25 R1S Tri motor just to get a comparison--I was impressed by the interval improvement in ride quality. Acceleration was pretty similar, though I didn't fully get on it.

Rivian is preliminarily offering me $56k for my R1T...I have just about 32k glorious miles on her, took her to multiple ski passes and into Whistler (from Seattle) without any major issue. All the little things I bought for my R1T I will transfer over, except for the EV Sportline rock sliders (apparently won't fit on Gen 2). I'm thinking I'll just leave those on, since I tossed the plastic panels...

I had committed ~1 wk ago, then they announced the Memorial Day $2k and made the EV Lease offer applicable for the Dune--when I asked if they would honor it, they said no, but then I told them I was going to cancel and my Rivian rep got it done. All in, I should be at ~$40k (includes tax) + trade in (actually lease, which I will then pay off)...

I got that same email, input my info for trade-in quote, they're offering $49k for my 63k mile 2022 R1T Quad. I spoke with a rep and after applying all of the deals, it's $20k cash towards lease and my buyout would be about $80k after...

So now I'm debating: $31k more for a brand new truck, or keep ol' reliable 🥦 and get a used Airstream with the same money?

I'll be honest, these deals are very tempting... Ironically I'm headed to the service center tomorrow... Sales rep said I could just leave it and drive off in a new one instead... I think Rivian finally hired real sales people.

That's actually an awesome deal. You put 63k miles, you certainly got your money's worth! For me, I always wanted a sand colored truck (I was seriously eyeing the Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bison), so I figured why not...
