I was able to acquire a second Rivian Torch, but I can't charge it at home. You currently can't buy the Torch charger alone. Any site sponsors able to make one? I took apart the Torch, here are some pics.

I can't help you, but I feel bad for the poor little Ewok you manhandled in order to "acquire" that torch.

May the force be with you!

Not the most convenient, but you could buy a standard 18650 battery charger and use that. These are readily available on Amazon. You would have to remove the battery from the torch and the internal battery sleeve, but it should work fine.

Swap it with the one in the door and have the door charge it? Then the fully charged one is at home

It's neither a great light nor a great powerbank but sold at insane prices, so I wonder...WHY?

But anyway, reverse engineering a charger to make them for the 2-3 people who might buy one is unlikely to happen. Buy a battery charger on Amazon.

This!

Sometimes it's just best to use the easiest solution to the problem. let the vehicle charge it, then swap it out with the other one you own. I can tell you from experience with 18650 cells, a quality cell in good condition will easily hold a charge for 2yrs or longer unlike NMH cells.

I already 3D modeled the Torch. Need to figure out how to fit the electronics into a base.

I am impressed by the level of dedication you've put into a mediocre, overpriced lamp and charger. That's only 50% sarcasm since so many great things have been made by people saying screw it and following their drive.

I've identified a potential issue. I have both the torch and power bank and the power bank does not charge with the reworked 1S lithium ion battery charger. On the power bank it says 5V 2A input which suggests to me that the torch and powerbank both have onboard BMS and we do not need to use a charger but instead apply 5V directly to the contacts. I tested this with a 5V power source and the power bank (which has charging lights) does indeed charge.

Could I get the details on this? I also have a second one that I’d like to be able to charge.

For anyone wondering how I got it, I took it from my first truck when it was totaled by some a$$hole running a red light.
