I’ve been having a bit of FOMO as I read about these Toyos and the great range they seem to get…. But in every other respect, the Nokian Outpost nAT set I put on a few months ago has been fantastic—way quieter than stock 20s, better traction in all contexts I came across (especially mud and snow, though not as good as the Hakkapeliitta LT3s I recently swapped to for winter here in VT—which should come as no surprise).
Who do you recommend for Rivian friendly tire mounting/balancing work in Montpelier?

Just had the Toyos EV III in 116H 275/65/20s put on to replace the Stock Pirellis on my 2022 Quad R1T. Too early to tell much but they do feel a little bit firmer than the Stock. But so much quieter. Will update once I get a few miles on them. 35k on the original tires.
Exactly the same as you, only I replaced mine on Monday the 24th with only 26.5k on the stock Scorpions.
I have a couple hundred miles on them so far just back and forth to work with a lead foot and getting about 1.9 efficiency. I fully expect to get same or better efficiency compared to the OEM tires. So far I'm very pleased with these SL Toyos. They look great and feel great. They are quieter and a steering shake that i had has completely gone away. Looking forward to getting them off-road.
I bought them on Tirerack.com and had them shipped to my local Discount Tire for installation.

OK, it's almost time for me to rotate out my Nokian snows for some 275/65R20 A/T tires for my Gen2 R1T All-Terrain Max (I sold my stock Pirellis in the fall knowing I would want a different tire this spring). There are about a dozen threads on tires!

  • Occasional off-roading, lots of dirt and mud, but no serious rock-crawling
  • Want a nice highway ride as a lot of my miles are driving to the Colorado mountains.
  • Light towing, <5000lbs
  • Want to maintain or have better mileage than the OEM Perellis
Seems like most of the recent posts here are about the Toyo Open Country A/T III EVs. They might be more off-road than I need but seems like the range is at least as good as the Scorpions and they have a better ride. They're on back order at DT, where else are they available?

Considering the Nokians but not a lot of posting on experiences, range, etc.

What else with proven track record?

I did find the Toyos at DT in the 116H, which is what I think I will go with...

Hey, sorry I didn't see this earlier!

I also missed your PM 🙃 Idk if you're still looking, but this may help others (or you), so I figure I'll just post anyways:

Gills Point S has mounted and balanced several wheels/tires for us, and seem to do a good job. We initially believed them when they told us they would align our trucks too (we have four R1Tsin our business). My father's launch R1T was way off from the factory, then got aligned once by Chelsea after prematurely wearing through one (or two? can't quite recall) of his tires. That alignment was still off, after which point we had Gills Point S align his truck and mine (mine was a demo truck and was off when I got it).

We did so knowing that Gills Point S can't put these trucks in the "precision ride height" mode that Rivian says is needed for a correct alignment. It turns out they were pretty far off (we learned this when we had an appointment shortly after for something else on my dad's truck). My truck was also way out of alignment. Gills Point S credited us for the two bad alignments, and said they won't touch these trucks again (for alignments).

The lesson here: only get aligmnets done either at a Rivian SC (major PITA, I know), or one of their certified collision centers. The closest one of those is Collision Pro in Claremont, NH.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it.

I ordered mine from Tire Rack.
275/65R-20 Toyo Open Country A/T III EV SL
Vendor Part #: 357200
They shipped them directly to Discount Tire and I was able to set up the installation appointment from the Tire Rack site. I have 1000 miles or so on them and very satisfied with this choice. Plus, they are less expensive than the LT version.
