New to the forum (for posting) but have been a voyeur for months, have absorbed lots of useful information, and am grateful for a resource like this!

I took delivery of an 2025 R1S Tri Max October 15th. Black Mountain/Dark ash wood/dynamic glass roof/premium audio. I had formerly been waiting for a DPM El Cap Darkout Dynamic Glass Roof since July 6th. The wait had become close to unbearable, as i was told to anticipate delivery in 6 weeks (the website now shows 3-6 months for custom builds).

I went to the shop online to see if a build close to my custom order was available, and I rather quickly and unexpectedly fell in love with with a storm blue TriMax. The Rivian guide I was working with shared the vehicle was already in my home state. I cancelled my original order ( was refunded the deposit) and reserved the TriMax which I picked up three days later. A sweet satisfying ending to what was becoming a long saga. I have seen others stuck in a similar holding pattern and if you’ve had enough, this may be an avenue for you to consider.

Regarding my experience, I have never been more enamored with a vehicle, ever. Expectations exceeded, and then some. Uncertain exactly what information I should be sharing, but happy to try my best to answer any questions.

2.05 mi/kWh is a bit low and painful to see, unless you've been taking full advantage of those 850 hp regularly.

Hahaha, holy smokes to some, i get it…but I drive quite a lot regularly. Commute at least 60 miles total a day for work. And just came back from a road trip to Georgia, ~500 miles each way, which inflates that number a bit.

Congrats. That is the color and interior I'm holding out for as well. Thank you for sharing the pics.

What is the experience with the dynamic glass? This is a feature that I wish the Gen1 models could have included.... how would you rate it?

I have a Dual Max and splurged on one with the dynamic roof. I love it!

My test drives were midday on a sunny day, in a Rivian with standard glass. Several times, the sun glinted inside my rather thick sunglasses. It was both annoying and debilitating; hindering my forward vision.

Cars with the dynamic glass were rare, so I told my wife, "I can always buy and install a shade." Her reply was, "Why buy your dream car and cheapen it with a shade?"

My takeaway from the photos is the temperatures for the motors. 140 in the front, 170 for the rears! That's a lot hotter than my dual motor where I've barely seen triple digits for the front and the rear usually hovers in the 80s. Admittedly, I've barely had mine for 2 weeks and haven't seen what summer numbers will look like.

I'm another 3-4,000 miles a month guy. If you drive like we do EVs make so much sense. I never anticipated I would like the entire experience the way I do. I was really hesitant, but took the leap and now I will never own an ICE vehicle again. I pick up my Tri Max T Storm Blue/slate interior Wednesday. Will be my third R1T.

Congrats! That color combo with dark out is sweet. If you always drive this much in a month, you chose a great car to do it in.

Were you doing some launches before taking that pic? Those motor temps are a lot higher than I ever see on my DM.
