I'd take the car back and pay for tidal for a month until it's sorted. It's worth the 20 bucks to make this issue a nonissue for the time being.

It does not seem reasonable that you would leave your new truck at the shop solely for an Apple Music fix especially when they aren’t sure what the issue is or how to fix it. Just subscribe to Spotify (even if temporarily) and enjoy your truckWhen I took delivery of my R1S tri-motor three weeks ago, Apple Music wouldn't work. It doesn't allow you to sign-in no matter what you try.
This seems to be a known issue by Rivian but they are being tight-lipped about it. Last week's software update did not fix it, as some were hoping/expecting.
So, my new car has been at Rivian service since Monday (today is Wednesday) and they just called to tell me that they're still running tests -- that the issue exists on other cars, it may be solved in the future with an OTA software update, they could try replacing the module but aren't confident that that'll fix it.
My instinct is to just take the car back and wait for a fix. Otherwise, I have an expensive brand new car in the shop and no assurance it'll get fixed anytime soon. They said it could take "a few more days" which doesn't seem okay to me.
I heard something about maybe it being specific to California... but not sure about that either. Nobody I talk to will really own the issue. They're willing to help... but nobody really seems to know what's going on, if it'll get fixed, how long it'll take, etc.
Anyone else having this issue...?
Thanks in advance.
Not really worth the trouble -- but it was bricked since I took delivery of the car and I just wanted it to work. Got the car back today after three days in the shop and they could not fix it.Don't use apple, but seems weird to go without your car for days for such an insignificant issue.
Is it really worth the trouble? I would've kept using the vehicle.
That's a good tip. I made sure they noted that it was unresolved and that I should be prioritized in the event a service visit is necessary to fix it once a solution is identified. Thanks! To answer your question about whether or not to take the car back, I would do it. You're right, having the car sit there with no clear plan of action isn't going to help.
However, before taking the car, I would make sure everything is documented. Make sure the report says that they were not able to fix it. That way, if you have to return for the same thing, you can say the issue wasn't resolved the first time. It gives a good clear history.
If you don't do it, the report might say "Closed" with no additional details and someone could interpret that as being resolved when it clearly wasn't. That would make it harder to for you to explain the story if the issue isn't fixed with the upcoming OTA.
Good luck
Since I took delivery, it has never worked. It doesn't allow you to sign in even a little bit. You tap the "sign in" button, the screen flashes and then goes right back to the page with (only) the sign-in button on it. So... the car's Apple Music has no way of knowing who I am / what my account ID is. It doesn't seem that there is anything I can do from my end with or without my Apple account/devices. They can't fix it OTA. They couldn't fix it after three days in the shop. Just took it back, finally. Not worth not having the car just over this issue, as many have pointed out here. Thanks for the reply. Are you sure the issue isn’t on your end with Apple Music? If you haven’t had a chance, confirm that there are no known issues with your Apple ID, etc. I used to work for Apple, and there were countless times when something as simple as signing a new TOSA created problems.
Good luck!
