I was curious - '22 R1T QM Large, 20k miles: $56.2k trade-in value.

Not bad considering original purchase price of around 77k with options (some of which I would be keeping).
My estimate was about the same and I only have 9,000 miles on my R1T. I think being a 2022 and about to be considered 3-years old once 2025 comes around is affecting the value. Regardless, considering the preorder price, I think it's a reasonable trade-in value. It'd reduce my sales tax considerably as well.

I'm in no position to buy right now. Had some major business expansion expenses over the summer that are still awaiting an ROI. I still love my truck and plan to keep enjoying it.

However, come holiday time, I'll take a second look. I'm sure my trade-in value will be a little less, but stacking with $7500 on a lease and if any friends and family discounts are available I might go for it. Doubtful, though, as the ROI on my business expenditures are taking longer to realize than originally anticipated.

Any one who is leasing currently, considering this offer?

I'm tempted, but would like to know if anyone has entertained the thought.. I have ~16000 miles on my 2024 R1S. Wonder how much the 'trade-in' value be. The online system does not give me a value currently, so i have reached out to the guide on Rivian side.

Anyone who has tried this, please post here. thank you.

I'm hot off a road trip from Vancouver BC to Yosemite and back with my wife and 18 month old daughter. Our 2023 QM R1T performed flawlessly. Family surprisingly was in good spirits the entire time despite spending roughly 8-10 hours a day in the vehicle. I drove mostly between AP, Sport, and Conserve, with a light sprinkle of Rally mode. Conserve continues to surprise me but you need to know how and when to use it to maximize tread life. The vehicle has enough range to make it a great road tripper provided you can contain everything within the vehicles profile.

The Gen 1 QM is a pretty sweet vehicle both from a build standpoint and a value proposition. I love the Storm Blue Tri T, but spending the extra 80k CDN post trade in, makes no sense. I'll ride the QM G1T (New naming?) for a while yet, and likely add the R2 to our garage when it's released.
Regarding CONSERVE. Please share use habits.

Call me cynical but the key here is "trade in value". Rivian trade-in-algo now probably deducts $3,500 from your R1 value.
Cynical...no..... practical..yes

I did a trade in estimate in July when my 2023 R1T quad-large had 18,000 miles —$57,820.

Last week I did another estimate now that I have 21,000 miles. Today’s trade value was $57,920, and that doesn’t include the $3500 credit.

At this rate they’ll pay me to take an upgrade in a few years!

July 12th my Trade in value was $65,800 at 20,000 miles
Today it is $61,700 at 28,000 miles

Either the $3,500 is taken into account now on the calculator and they reduce it by that much and "give" it back later, or that extra 8k miles and 3 months depreciated it significantly.

I find it hard to believe that many will upgrade at this point from Gen 1 with these low trade-in values. I'll wait a few years and hopefully pricing will drop a bit and be a much better product offering. Have no interest in the R2's despite having a reservation for one. Hopefully R2's come soon enough because it's not easy to keep selling $80-100k trucks in this economy.

The trade in tool quoted ~$49,000 for my 53,000 mile R1T.

caravana offer is $2000 less than Rivian’s.
Funny. Quoted me just over 50k for 33k miles. My condition is probably worse— dings and scratches. #truck

Rivian offered 64k for my 24 DM/large when I bought mine for 90k in Jan. $3.5k doesn’t really make much for me to lose 20k for a “upgrade” to gen2. Tbh, is it really an upgrade when they removed some stuff in gen2 (plastic headliner, no 3rd row cubby in some, etc)

so... Rivian wants to offer $3500 to The Count to trade in his early VIN QUAD LE R1S for a lesser vehicle?

Do you still have to put down a non-refundable $1K deposit before they tell you what your trade in value will be?

If you click through the offer link a deposit is no longer required for an instant trade in offer. I was working on an EOQ deal last week and was offered $50660 for my 2022 R1T LE with 28500 miles. Today, after the $3500 came out, I was offered $50770, good for 30 days. So there has not been a negative effect on trade in values due to the new offer. However, I agree with others that more assistance is needed to walk to a similar vehicle, like the forthcoming Tri Max R1T. I will be waiting until December for R1T’s to be prevalent in the shop, to see Storm Blue/Slate Sky in person, reasonable lease terms, F & F combinable offers, and most importantly a sound system comparable with my most beloved Meridian. I will not buy and wait for “a fix”. Been there, done that for my tonneau cover by waiting 2 years.

The only reason I would consider it is because of ongoing issues that I attribute to early build-itis and no amount of band-aids have solved the issues. (Half-shafts, suspension clunks). But nothing is guaranteed it seems even with Gen 2 builds. It’s luck of the draw.
