In this article from Car buzz with a R1S Tri they got the following (and noted times were independently confirmed and retested with a Racebox data recorder)

Launch: 2.86s
Sport: 3.04s
AP: 3.58s
Conserve: 4.51s

Looks like the built in launch timer lines up pretty well with independent confirmation based on my experience (2.84s).

Yes Rivian is quicker than just about everything that costs. less than a million to 60 mph.

That said, there's so much more to sports cars than 0-60 time....
Undoubtedly true, but no one ever claimed an R1 was a sports car. Sure, it doesn't handle as well as a sports car, but I don't know of any sports cars that can run the Rubicon trail stock, tow 7K+ pounds, or seat seven people.

Definitely amazing. Remember the days I got the Model S P100D a few years back.
My Gen 1 Quad, definitely does not have that punch from a standstill but I am every day amazed with how much ease it too pulls away from almost anything on the road. Love it.

This!
To all the haters of EV's out there, the fact that an R1S can do all of this still amazes me. Unfathomable a decade ago. Excited for the next developments (most from China) in the coming decade ahead that will eventually trickle down to all EV's.

.96G (2.86 0-60) is pretty significant from an everyday life perspective. My G1 T is technically a lot slower but still makes me a bit off when I launch it.

A G force of 0.1 can cause motion sickness at sea.

A G force of 0.15 is the force caused by a passenger elevator.

Riding your bike down a dirt road and stopping with only the front brakes would cause a G force of about 0.33.

A sled pulled by dogs from a standing start would generate 0.41 Gs.

You could generate 0.67 Gs by braking hard!

Making a fast turn in a vehicle could provide a G Force of 1.15.

An uninhibited sneeze after sniffing ground pepper would generate 2.9 Gs.

Cool points of reference.

I believe the g force you're referencing for 0-60 in 2.86s assumes a constant acceleration (which, I get .94g btw). In reality, it's not constant so peak g force I've seen is 1.18 as reported by the vehicle in launch mode.

Good. About time China pioneers some tech that we can rip off for once.

Ha, yes the "Chinese Knock off" is real....

American's have been supporting them for years, they love their cheap shit from Walmart and the dollar stores...heck every store it seems cheap wins but in reality we all lose :(

It's pretty pervasive. The de minimis exception they've used to flood the market with dollar store junk. Americans should learn to live better with less, but we're addicted to consumption.

Good time with Launch mode. About the same as my Tesla Model 3 Highland Performance. So they'll run heads up until 60 until the 3 runs away from it.

If comparing Tri Max G2 Sport mode to Quad G1 Sport mode, my G1 R1T has run quicker. AP to AP, the G1 R1T is quicker. That also seems to track with other G2 Tri owners who said their new trucks felt slower in AP than their previous G1s.

Haven't ran conserve mode but in the G2, it will not stay in FWD only so it isn't an apt comparison. I assume they are running high states of charge (SoC) and at track or prepped surface. The times I've posted in my Dragy run thread are on the street and not a full charge so I think I could improve my times a bit with a higher SoC and with better traction.

I'd love to know what exactly launch mode is doing under the covers.
