Ah ok I see. I appreciate you getting that info for me. Any idea where I am able to supply the pyro fuse or it is the same fuse for Gen1?
The Pyro switch just severs the 12v connection, you can bypass it and make it start so you can maneuver it around until you can source one.

That's wild that they restrict the sale of that. A 90 year old grandma can walk in buy one from our parts department on the cars I deal with.

This is High Voltage disconnect, not some 50 cent blade fuse. It's called "pyro" because it literally explodes under certain circumstances to disconnect the HIGH VOLTAGE battery so it doesn't kill someone by grounding the frame in an accident.

I disagree, the pyrofuse fuse doesn't control high voltage. I've changed dozens of them. It has a small 12v charge controlled by the airbag control unit to sever the 12v connection after the airbags have deployed. The high voltage circuit doesn't need anything like that because it already has high voltage contactors built into the battery. Only once all the prerequisites on the 12v side are met will it close the contactors in the hv battery and allow high voltage to flow. I've seen a couple hv systems that have a fuse in the hv battery that splits the voltage in have to make it less lethal in the event of a internal short, but that's nothing like a pyrofuse.

In Gen1 perhaps, but not Gen2. You have to disconnect HV lines to access the 2025 pyro fuse. It's literally connected to the HV battery.

Perhaps, but that doesn't mean it itself is high voltage, or controlling high voltage. Everything that controls a high voltage battery is 12v.

There probably are fuses for the HV, but not that one. My brother just fixed a Smart EV by swapping in a set of $4 fuses for the box that Mercedes quotes at $6500. One on each leg of the HV battery.

This reminds me of my Tesla and the DC-to-DC converter, where there are 3 fuses. Each fuse is like 40amp and can be bought on Amazon for $40 or less. But what Tesla will do is replace the whole box for $1500! And then take apart the box, change the fuses, and then install it in another car for $1500! Easy DIY fix which involves removing the front right tire and the firemans loop.

My suggestion - get under the car, find the box in questions with the fuse, remove the fuse, take it apart, do some math and figure out its amperage (if its not stamped on there somewhere) and then go from there.

You can also do a little digging and find the manufacturer of the fuse and then try to buy it direct...

Note also that there is a post on this forum from late last year where a guy fixed a salvage Gen 1, and he found that the pyro fuse in that was the exact same as in a Mercedes and just bought the part direct...So, pop the fuse out and check for manufacturers part number and go from there...trust me, Rivian didn't have someone design and produce a "Rivian-only" pyro fuse...
