Hey Rivian Nation,

Pleased to announce, our new design for 2025 R1S (Gen II refresh) is done! We have created a new Rock Slider for Gen II, and they are rolling off our production line and IN STOCK! Also, we have all Running Boards for 2025 R1S in stock too!

For R1T fans, we'll have those Rock Sliders soon - in progress!

Check them here

Tried installing today and there are three body bolts in the middle of the Gen 2 R1S and only 1 hole drilled in the rock slider. They can’t lay flush unless I remove those 2 extra bolts, but no way to re-insert them. Based on my measurements, one of those body bolts is at or extremely close to a welding point on the rock slider so I can’t drill a hole into the metal without compromising the welds.

There were no install instructions included in the shipment and the website instructions are not accurate.

Dealing with the same issue. At a loss what to do at this step . . . also I count 9 of the outside bolts versus 10 in the Gen 1. I have left the company a voicemail and email.

I’m surprised they shipped these with no instructions and the Gen 1 video (which is good) being so different from the actual Gen 2 setup.

I was already planning on contacting them as the instructions for the panel removal should be updated to use only Torx bits rather than Torx and sockets.

How long ago did you reach out to them? I just sent them a message today.

I made a comment about if they would make a new video, but their response was there was minimal changes so they didn’t need to.

I wonder if Rivian made a change mid year to the body bolts. It seems strange the sliders would be this far off.

I just reached out today as I had waited until this weekend to install them. Hoping @EV Sportline can get back to us with some additional instructions very quickly.

Probably won’t be until Monday unless someone @EV Sportline happens to see this thread.

Very disappointing.
Agreed. Very disappointed thus far.

I’m hopeful they can get something to us quickly.

I was wondering if this might have been a Tri Max issue but do you have a Gen 2 DMP? If so then it would seem to go across all of the existing Gen 2 setups.

Yes, I have a Gen 2 Dual Max Performance. VIN 57XXX. Manufactured in September 2024.

I don’t think it will be a quick or cheap fix. I was hoping to drill some 3/4 holes into those extra bolt spots, but one of them sits right on top of a major weld. That piece of metal needs to be moved about a 1/2 to make it work.

Hi there! Can you shoot me a DM with the email address you used to create your ticket? One of my colleagues may have grabbed it.

Rivian Nation - gang, Rivian continues to make 'on the fly' changes. These two bolts are NEW -- They didn't exist on the earlier refresh trucks, confirmed just a few weeks ago. Sorry guys, nothing (will ever) stops Rivian from continuously making changes - but as always, rest assured we'll have this addressed and solved in short order, just like we have for every single Rivian design iteration. Our CS agent Tatiana is on the ball, as mentioned above - feel free to PM her as needed!
