2025.10.1 Damaged Alexa

I have a 2023 Rivian R1S that I love. However, the 2025.10.1 update caused strange things to happen with Alexa. I cannot control the volume of the Alexa voice. I can change the volume of the alert tones just not the voice. Also, if I understood the update description correctly, I should be able to ask for CNN on XMRadio. If I try that, it tells me that it cannot find that on Amazon Music.

I have tried soft and hard resets to no avail.

Anyone else seeing this or am I alone?

For sure the voice volume is broken. I sent feedback to Rivian through the app the other day.

Phew, I'm not crazy! Picked up my used new to me R1T in Normal yesterday and couldn't figure out how to fix her voice response volume during my drive home. The wakeup noise was the only thing changing.
I'll start out my ownership path with a bug submission ;p

My Alexa is selectively deaf even when I scream and then when she does hear me she says she doesn’t understand basic commands that at other times she DOES understand

It seems like 2 steps forward 1 back with Alexa for every update. I have the volume problem but Alexa/spotify is working again after not working for several versions. However, now Alexa doesn’t work for navigation anymore. Can’t find anything search for.

Navigation problem was that my location sharing with Alexa was disabled.

Well that only fixed it temporarily. Back to not working.

I'm having the same problem, but with the added issue of sound overall being off. Soft and hard restarts didn't fix it. 22' quad R1T. Sound is very hollow, almost like door speakers aren't putting out and sound.

What I used to say about Alexa: Well, it can't get any worse.

Alexa takes a few second longer to respond as well. Plus some lag in the middle of songs occasionally that wasn’t there before.

The only issue I've noticed with Alexa was her voice was quieter than before. I was able to fix that by turning up the volume using the volume roller on the steering wheel. I just increased the volume while she was talking.

For me, those adjustments are showing the Alexa icon while adjusting (also tried them from the main screen controls vs scroller while active) but it only changes the acknowledgement/ding sound.

It appears that the problem is that the Alexa voice is feeding the "media" input instead of the "Alexa" input. You can change the volume of the Alexa voice by adjusting the media volume.

Also, I just discovered that the driving mode screen no longer shows torque and regeneration on the tire images. That seems to have broken with 2025.10.1, too.

Try a reboot of you haven't. It was an issue on previous versions as well.

In the process of trouble shooting the Alexa problem with a service adviser, I did two soft reboots and one hard reboot. I also let the car reset by going to sleep.

I'll try a soft reboot again with the drive mode screen.

Rivian is sending a mobile service truck out in about a week to do further trouble shooting.
