Twice now since last Thursday this has occurred.

Was planning on a big trip with charging stops Friday. Set the truck to 95% in the truck before plugging in for the night. Went to leave on Friday and it was 69% (set to 70%). Thought maybe I made a mistake.

Got home from a bunch of holiday driving where I set the limit to 100% while out for the weekend. Pulled into the garage last night, set the truck to 70% from in the truck. Clicked off the screen to make sure it stuck this time.

Got up this morning and it had charged to 100%.

This appears to be a bug in the new software. Anyone else see it?

Mine is currently updating (as I write this) so I won't know until later, but have you tried setting it in the app?

Oddly, I tried to start the update twice in the app and it failed both times, flashing an on-screen error message on my phone that went away too fast to read (is there a way to recall that?)

I was plugged in charged to the setting I picked (85%), unlocked, in my garage at home. The doors, windows, tailgate, tonneau, gear tunnels, and frunk were all properly closed. It worked fine when I started it from inside the truck.

The times this has happened to me it has been because I set a charging schedule and left it there, or got the AM/PM wrong on the charging schedule. The app screen where you set this is wonky, it is really easy to set the wrong time, and set the wrong desired SOC.

I've had this happen to me twice (target charge rate set to 71%, a target I never use) - level 2 charging at home once and DCFC on a roadtrip. My instances both occurred when my software was 2024.39.

I had this issue listed as a squawk on my service visit last week. No resolution - anecdotally thought to be associated with the external drive being used for gear guard recording per my service advisor.

I've had this truck for 2.5 years.

This was not a screwup on my behalf, and I intentionally made very certain it was done correctly last night so as not to charge the truck up to 100% without needing to.

This was not done via the app, it was done on the truck itself both times.

I’ve changed it in the app and it wood revert back to the original setting. After rebooting my phone it appeared to work. Never went out to the truck

This happened to me for the first time last week.

For overnight charging, which is nearly always the case for me, I set my the level manually to a rather low 20 amp rate because time isn't an issue and correctly or not, I think it's better for battery longevity. I also use the custom level of 65%. You have to select the 20 amp rate manually every time, and I always check to make sure the SOC is set properly at the same time.

I did this when I plugged the truck in this past Thursday, and was surprised to wake up Friday morning to the R1T at 100% SOC. I'm not a Connect+ subscriber, so do not have the Christmas update list and am on the 2024.43.01 software.

I'm currently having same or a similar problem post software update 2024.47.01. Whenever I set the charging limit it reverts back to 70% after a couple of hours. Pretty frustrating to have the truck stop L2 charging in the middle of the night when I need big range for a trip. I'm engaging with customer service today and will report back anything I learn.

This happened to me this morning. I normally charge to 85% but I bumped it to 100% before my trip. I know the app connectivity is often unreliable, but I verified that it was indeed set to 100% via ElectraFi. I woke up this morning and the truck had completed its charge - to 85%. Fortunately I thought to check, and I was able to get to 95% before Ieft which was enough for the trip, but it was closer than I thought it would be.

I've since set it to 100% and am charging at a family member's house now and it hasn't set back, but this is a pretty big bug.

Not exactly the same issue, but I did notice my truck was at 62% this morning, with a charge limit set to 60%. Installed .47 on Thursday.

Was it cold outside? I notice this too when it's cold outside. In Gen1, I think this is due to heating the battery, but it could also be a BMS issue at low temps? Either way, this is a non-issue for me.

Yes it's been cold, but it didn't go over the charge limit when temps were cold over the past month on the prior software version.

Update after multiple calls with Rivian customer service: They have no idea what is causing the issue and are "elevating" the problem.

To everyone else experiencing this problem, please open a service request with Rivian. Let's light a fire under them to fix this issue with minimal disruptions to holidays travel plans.

Will do.

Took 3 tries in the truck before setting it to 70% from 100% "stuck".

I’m seeing the same problems as described above. It’s been pretty sporadic for me. The other day it seemed like VD drain had improve. Today I seem to be draining a bit more then usual. All of my experiences started within the last few days when the temperatures dropped significantly.
