This is a picture I took a couple days ago at my neighbors house... Definitely looks lighter and brighter in direct sunlight. I like it, but not sure if I want it long term.

Killer95Stang, that's for taking the time to post. That helps. Moving towards team Blue.

They do look nice; just not $3,500 nice.
IMO They should have given launch edition order holders an $1800 credit if they opted to go with the dark wheels. if not its like they are taking away your free upgrade when you choose dark.

Jack up car in garage or flat driveway, put it on jackstands and load them into back of your wife's car to get them to the shop.
I mostly don't want black rims so much that I'm putting my truck out of commission for two weeks. :)

Honestly, I love these rims. I've recently swapped to them after seeing a truck on the LG thread with them installed.

That little yellow stripe on them is really lovely.

I will say that they are MUCH better looking in person than in photos or renders.

I have to admit, if Santa brought a Rivian, all my Christmas decorations would still be up, too.... ?

That's a post production tester. It's complete, but still has telematics and other gadgets inside strewn throughout the vehicle My neighbor works for Rivian, so I've seen 10 more different Trucks/SUVs over the last year. Impressed enough, that we ordered an R1S a few months back. I know he also ordered an R1S LE, so hopefully I'll get to see that when it finally gets delivered.

So I just looked up powder coating locations in my area: and one jumped out (only checked one). One interesting point in their FAQ made me wince:
Q: Can we leave our vehicle with you while you powder coat the rims (they estimate it takes 2 weeks)?
A: No, we don't have the security or storage space for that.

Is this common? If so, how the heck would I get them my rims without buying another set of rims?

Hmmmm.
One wheel at a time starting with the spare?

I use R1TS and they're really great. Although I had some concerns about the paint, after 3 months of traveling they are still fine. I'm happy.

All the best, Victor, IT-specialist, Work Time.

I really like those black wheels, but I won’t spend $3500 additional for them. That is ridiculous. I noticed the R1T and R1S show up on TireRack and Discount Tire as vehicle options, but no wheels are shown if you choose them. I gather from other threads here the wheel size for the 20s is 20x8.5 with a 5x5.5 bolt pattern. Not sure about offset. Can anyone confirm that? If you search for wheels that size most results are car wheels, not truck wheels that I would ever take off road.

I like the dark ones, but they are not worth $3500. I find it crazy that I can get any of the other wheels for $1800, but I have to pay $1700 more for dark
It’s almost like they’re doing something additional to the wheels to darken them and then charging for it.

I never saw that yellow stripe on the black AT’s! Thanks for pointing that out.

EDIT: I see now that every wheel except the standard has a yellow accent. I've really got to see these vehicles in person. Seems like they've halted in-person events for winter?
