"as of October 31, 2021, we produced 180 R1Ts and delivered 156 R1Ts. Nearly all of these vehicles were delivered to Rivian employees, and we expect to ramp deliveries to third-party customers as we increase our production rate. We plan to launch and commence customer deliveries for the R1S, a three-row seven-passenger sports utility vehicle (“SUV”) in December 2021 following the completion of ongoing vehicle validation and all required testing. By the end of 2021, we intend to produce approximately 1,200 R1Ts and 25 R1Ss and deliver approximately 1,000 R1Ts and 15 R1Ss"

At least we are getting some more solid estimates now.

"As of October 31, 2021, we had approximately 55,400 R1T and R1S preorders in the United States and Canada from customers who each paid a cancellable and fully refundable deposit of $1,000. Based on our current production forecast, we expect to fill our preorder backlog of approximately 55,400 by the end of 2023. We believe the combination of our deep focus on addressing climate change, building compelling products, and delivering a superior customer experience will enable Rivian to drive adoption and customer loyalty, powering our continued growth."

That's a pretty big jump in preorders since the first filing.

Ouch, end of 2023 would be pretty rough. Glad I still have my F150 Lightning reservation, but wouldn't be surprised if that gets pushed out as well.

Nice ramp up it seems. About 4 to 5 a day so far. They have 60 days to produce another 1000

This is becoming comical. 2023?

I for one resent being considered “third-party”. Since we have a direct relationship with Rivian (gave them preorder $$$), we are entitled to at least second-party classification.

But average of almost 14/day since last update to S-1.

“8,321,072 shares of Class A common stock issued to Forever by Rivian, Inc., a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization, to fund and support our social impact initiative in connection with the completion of this offering (see “Business—Forever” for additional information) based upon an initial public offering price of $59.50.”
$500m to fund ESG. This is nice and cute but I feel like they should hold options and not exercise until profitable.

Okay, so this pushes most of the 2018 preorders into Jan and beyond.
We don't know the take rate for R1S vs R1T and Launch Edition vs others. If they hit the 1200 number, that could satisfy a decent chunk of the 2018 R1T customers who selected LE. Gives our November 2018 LE R1T in the Seattle area some hope at least...

The numbers from the latest S-1 filing are disappointing but a bit better than I expected.

In my CS chat this morning they confirmed all LE deliveries by Spring 2022 and that R1Ts will start shipping January 2022. Yes R1Ts will start shipping while LE orders wait.

IMO Rivian is the best bet for getting an EV truck before 2024 unless you are a very early reservation for the Lightning.

That actually sounds like a sizable increase. From what, 2 R1’s/day to ~30 for November and December (7 weeks) removing the week of Thanksgiving & Christmas. Could they progress to 100/day in Q1? All deliveries by end of 2023 seems like a very slow ramp rate. But they will also have Amazon vans competing for chips, batteries, etc.
