I was in Truckee over the 4th of July. After dealing with a screw in my tire and a drive to Reno to Discount Tire (none of the local Truckee shops were open), and kudos to the team at Discount Tire they had the pucks and knew the procedures.
I left Truckee with 80% SOC and went into Tahoe National Forest and found a place to camp. Then I continued to explore the wilderness on the 4th checking out some lakes (Boca, Independence, Jackson Meadows, and Bullards Bar were notable) and going over something called Henness Pass Raod.
It was fun and included a lot of varied driving terrain. I had to cut at least one tree blocking the way, a water crossing or two, some steep ascents and descents (one was white knuckle inducing). Probably a few new pinstripes but I can’t even tell anymore
Enjoy a clip of some drive cam footage and a few photos.
Oh no problem getting to Chico, CA from Truckee
