Details please? Finally added a 12V to my frunk using the OEM harness and wiring
McGrubber!!!!
Finally added a 12V to my frunk using the OEM harness and wiring.
My OEM harness on the source side at the fender, had the wiring still in the harness (I believe all Gen1 models have this wiring. Maybe they removed it in Gen2); the harness into the frunk tub did not have the wire. I bought the correct connectors to tap in to the factory plug as shown - and utilized an Amazon sourced 12 V plug.Details please?
OEM harness… so your Rivian was one of the limited group that still had the harness connections but not the outlet? Correct?
Links/sources for parts utilized?
Any details you can share on installation process, or if you just followed steps/parts listed in another post, please link to that post.
Any particular use you have planned for the outlet? I wanted to run a portable fridge box, but the front side of my frunk box (near AC compressor?) gets VERY hot… doesn’t seem conducive to keeping a fridge cold.
Looks great… thanks for sharing. Would love to hear/see the details.
It’s a shared 20 amp fuse - the plug wiring itself I have a dedicated inline 15 amp.Nice work! What is the maximum output in watts from that receptacle? I've been wanting to charge my battery powered tools but I know the chargers take about 250 watts.
Same! What do you charge? I'll be by tomorrow!
Great documentation. The fuse is #46, 20 amp on driver side. It’s a shared 20 amp fuse - the plug wiring itself I have a dedicated inline 15 amp.
About 180 watt - which is pretty standard for at cigarette adapter.
Me too. What do you charge? I'll be by tomorrow!
Yes I’m hoping to find a retrofit solution for a water pump. Would consider also using for a fridge and have been following the “too hot for fridge” concerns, but think there’s a fit if you’re okay with not needing to have the fridge compressor on all that often. My first thought would be water pump...
