Suspecting that Rivian’s well established pattern would not change is what kept me from ordering the max pack. Sorry to see that I was correct.

Reading the tea leaves, I changed my Aug 2021 preorder from Explorer to Adventure a few weeks ago and today received a Oct-Dec 2022 window. Seems likely that if you switch (even today) to the Adventure+Large config, your preorder date will be honored and you'll get a 2022 delivery window.

Not the case. I’ve had a R1T order since Oct 2020 with the large pack and adventure packet and my bullshit delivery window is 2023!

This RJ email is further proof that CS is clueless and merely exists to placate pre-order holders. They stated to many of us just last week that R1S explore would begin production in August 2022. Clearly that was incorrect and many with explore package probably kept that configuration expecting only a 3 month delay. So glad that I have no patience and switched to adventure last week.

My advice would be to take most of what you learn from CS with many large (max) grains of salt.

Agreed. Thus my decision to upgrade regardless of what they said about timing. Glad I did, I should hopefully see a vehicle in 2022 instead of 2023.

As a Max Pack Adventure pre-order holder, these dates have no impact on my calculus.

There are no other options that will deliver a 400 mile range EV pickup before Rivian.

My F150 Lightning order might get filled in 2022, but I have no idea, Ford has been less communicative than Rivian (I still don't even know how much any of the trim levels or options would run, let alone actually have a delivery date). Let alone, it has a 300 mile range, which I could get by stepping down to a Large pack in an R1T.

And while GM is going to unveil the EV versions of the Silverado and Sierra at CES in 2022, I'm guessing that puts the production to 2023.

Ram is still apparently under the impression that EV is some form of black magic.

Toyota is out in the 2024/2025 timeline...

So... yeah... I guess I will hope that the Ram I have is done leaking fluids and randomly throwing CILs for the next year+.

I do 100% agree with their process though, you build for the 80%, not for the 20%... not until you are stable. Basic Program Management 101.

Agreed, I did a day one Lightning reservation just to get in the queue as another option. Other than an email in November about "SEE THE F‑150 LIGHTNING™ TRUCK IN AR‍/‍3D" (which was lackluster considering the email hype) I have had zero point zero useful communication from Ford. Rivian has been better.
