  1. R1S Dog Owners

I also like the split tailgate on the S. This is a ‘90 RRC and it gives you a place to stage the dogs or whatever while loading them. You can see the slam latch on the crate, which makes it easier to deal with if your hands don’t like the squeeze method. Those are English Cockers and are...
  2. R1S Dog Owners

I am pretty sure the rear cargo area on the S is not flat though. From the photos it looks like you need a “shim” piece. Can anyone verify that?
  3. R1S Dog Owners

I have always used crates. Dogs seem to like them. Sometimes we have to wake them up at the destination. Ruff Lands are good. We have several. They have many sizes.. Gunner Kennels are a little nicer and have slam latches…. Really heavy though.
  4. Finally RAN Grayling is ONLINE!

The boat comment is pretty self explanatory… My Rivian stays at the dock, gets untied, goes for a ride ( say to the grocery store), comes back to the dock and gets tied up. just like a boat. Actually it would be easier to take the boat on a trip. As far as, “ Can one Rivian make it up...
  5. Finally RAN Grayling is ONLINE!

My company has had several issues with this… Early on cannabis Facilities we budgeted had to relocate to get power. And remember they take and pay for all the power. These “chargers” are show ponies…. They don’t have a high utilization factor… This whole “the grid can’t support it”...
  6. Finally RAN Grayling is ONLINE!

What you are missing is that the utility has to allocate the power for the chargers. And provide a transformer. You may have heard of supply chain issues. Those transformers are scarce. And the Utility probably has a more urgent need for them elsewhere. They have to find them 480v power and at...
  7. Finally RAN Grayling is ONLINE!

They are probably waiting for the Utility. That is a pretty rough “rough in” …. Did you see a pad mount transformer nearby? We looked at some infrastructure for some Chevy dealers so they could plan a little. 18 months was the estimate from the Utility. The Utilities have to commit a...
  8. Regenerative Braking and motion sickness

I did not say “ It was not me.” I said that I was not paying attention and my lack of attention Affected my iron stomached wife. Even you are saying you have to drive differently with passengers. How important exactly is regen braking? Adds a little energy back? Saves brake pad wear? Seems...
  9. Regenerative Braking and motion sickness

OK… Your high horse has a nice view… I have been driving for 50+ years in every contraption possible. Started in a ‘63 Dodge Dart with a 3 on the tree. Class 8 trucks to 911’s, Mustang GT’s with sticks. Everything in between. Still have 4 MT vehicles…. Also mid 6 figures in the snow. Private...
  10. ⚠️ Rivian Recall: insufficiently torqued front upper control arm & steering knuckle fastener [official torque value = 90 lb-ft / 122 Nm]

Does anyone know if it is an SAE or Metric nut? I have seen both on forums.. I am going to look at mine tomorrow as it is A half hour away.. In a nice clean and warm building at least. I would like to have some confidence as to their security before I drive it further. I am not exactly sure...
  11. Winter Is Coming…

I have the 20’s and am going to try the OEM tires. I am in the Northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan. I am not sure how much I will drive it in the snow as I have a winter dedicated Audi Q7 with Blizzak’s and a Range Rover with the Cross Climate 2’s… I do not want to derail the thread, but I...
  12. Over 3 m/kWh for 260 miles…

    Well, it is September…
  13. What trailer hitch are you guys using?

The truck will presumably level itself. Trailers come in all sorts of hitch heights off the ground. I mean, visualize it or go to a trailer sales place with a tape. Depends on tire size, springs, etc… It is the trailer you are trying to level to itself as best you can. You can see the...
  14. What trailer hitch are you guys using?

https://www.etrailer.com/dept-pg-Trailer_Hitch_Ball_Mount-sf-Adjustable_Ball_Mount.aspx pick one.. I have 6 trailers in my ”trailer farm” . Mostly I tow with a GMC HD 2500 Diesel, but no matter. .. As stated earlier, you want your trailer as flat as possible. If you can visualize the...
  15. Entry / ingress into R1 is not that easy

New member here… I am a 29” inseam guy with two hip replacements. I try remember to lower the suspension upon exit. It is not that bad really. And to exit, just swivel on the seat and slide out..l Now I do have a Land Rover Defender 110 from 1990. I carry a little stool on a piece of...
