You get all the fees refunded to you, including doc fees. I got a check by UPS about a week after the docs arrived. guides know very little about the process except to request self registration.- StefCT

I took delivery on 6/29. After many excuses from my guide as to the lack of progress on the registration I finally demanded with 2 weeks to expiry to send me the self-registration packet and I'll take care of it.
