  1. Atlanta SC shout out

Hidden rodent damage to hidden wires caused my BRAKE indicator light to illuminate so I took it to the Atlanta SC for repair. It was also time to do the first maintenance service since I am at 27.5k miles. My service center contact, Jonathan, was very helpful for everything and make sure that...
  2. Dash BRAKE light stays on continuously. Normal?

The dash BRAKE light is continually on. Is this something that I should be concerned about?
  3. Lease in limited states - Why?

Wondering why leasing is only available in certain states. Wondering why this is.
  4. Thoughts about purchasing a used R1S please

As the proud owner of an R1T (24,877 miles), the R1S seems to be attractive as a replacement for our Model Y LR. Since I don't have an early reservation, I'm dealing with current pricing. By some measure of happenstance, the local Chevrolet dealer has a Limestone Ocean R1S (VIN 107XX) quad with...
  5. Gen 2 updated Powered Tonneau Cover installed upon request!

I experienced rodent damage a few weeks ago to my Tee - the nasty animal chewed through the air line disabling the suspension. I want to compliment Rivian Service in general for promptly sending the flatbed to transport my truck to the Atlanta service center for repair. And I want to further...
  6. Is the Blowing Rock RAN operational?

Heading up to Boone and Blowing Rock today and wondered if the Blowing Rock RAN is operational. Last PlugShare post is almost 2 weeks old now. Boone Circle-K fast charger is operational now.
  7. Today is the day!!

Driving to Virginia from Western NC this evening and I'm routing through N Charlotte to take advantage of the Rivian chargers at the REI there. I'm not exactly sure why this excites me but after 13 months of ownership I am looking forward to my first Rivian charger experience. I hope it is a...
  8. MotorTrend trip charging strategy comparison

MotorTrend published an interesting exercise on differing strategies for trip speeds and charging times here: 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning XLT Yearlong Review: Road-Trip Range Strategies (motortrend.com) If I read it correctly, the best strategy seems to be 75mph and 15-minute charging stops.
  9. New 21" Shoes (Tires) for the T

I picked up my T last August 9 and it has been trouble free thus far. Lifetime efficiency is 2.57 over 17,656 miles. I was really trying to make it 12 months on the OEM tires but it just wasn’t to be so I pulled the trigger and re-shod the T with new 21” shoes today. I sure wish I had options...
  10. Positive Mobile Tech Report

My full size 21" tire/wheel was delivered this morning by a mobile tech. Since he was coming by anyway, I set up several service items that weren't showstoppers but needed attention. The Tech arrived on time, recognized the underlying issues and took care of every squawk and he left my Tee in a...
  11. Efficiency report for last 1000 miles

I thought it might be interesting to track my KWh/mile for the last 1000 miles. Mostly All Purpose with Conserve used for over the road portions.
  12. Recurrent Battery Monitoring Service

Enrolled this week in the Recurrent battery monitoring service this week. Figured that a crowd service source comparing my battery to others might be useful. And if and when I trade my Tee, it wouldn’t hurt to have a battery “carfax” in hand.
  13. Day Trip: 284 miles with 10% battery left (R1T with 21" wheels)

Did a day-trip yesterday from home base (Hendersonville, NC) to the Tesla SC in west Knoxville, TN (downhill in the rain). After test driving the Tesla Y long range, we stopped by the sister-in-law's house on the northside for a visit and then back home (uphill through rain). Left with 100%...
  14. Just passed 10k miles. 2.44m/KWh consumption so far (on 21" wheels)

Took delivery of my Tee on 8/9 and passed the 10k mark on my way to a nearby town for a meeting. The truck has performed splendidly (knock on wood) and I don’t have a single complaint. 2.44m/KWh over the lifetime of the truck includes an equal amount of summer, fall, and winter driving.
  15. L2 Charging Question -- need to reset input to 40A each time or will the truck default to the 40A input automatically?

My home has the Rivian L2 wall charger installed and the truck is set to 48A input. Works splendidly and gives me 25-27 miles per hour. I installed A 240v 15-50 plug at the office and purchased an Electrek 40A charger so that i can top off battery while at work. My question: do I need to reset...
  16. Rivian R1T Bed Outlet Saves Power Outage Day -- charges battery charger for natural gas generator

Living in the mountains of western NC, it isn’t unusual to lose electricity from time to time and even though they work hard, getting it restored by Duke Energy can be hit or miss. Therefore, we have a nice 25kw natural gas generator for backup. Until the battery gets old and cranky and won‘t...
  17. Advice on second portable J1772

I'm installing a 32A 240V plug (50A double pole breaker) at my vacation home and I want to purchase a second portable J1772 plug to keep there. Any advice on brand will be greatly appreciated! (I use the Rivian wall charger at home and the T is set at 48A.)
  18. Canceled my R1S today

I took delivery of my T on 8/9. I executed the paperwork on 8/10 and promptly FedEx’d them to Rivian. I immediately added my truck with Nationwide on my current insurance plan that expired on 9/3. I waited and waited and waited for my tag but nothing came and I heard nothing from Rivian. So, I...
  19. TPMS reset method?

The TPMS icon showed up this morning and said that a tire was low. I filled all the tires to 50-53 but the icon is still showing. Is there a way to reset the TPMS system?
  20. A/C and Heater Energy Comparison

Now that the temperatures are getting cooler, I was wondering which system uses more energy: A/C in summer or heater in winter?
