Honestly, if chunks of tire were flying off those are manufacturing defects and either Rivian or Pirelli are obligated to replace them at no charge. Typically, if tire chunks are flying off, it means either the tire has been heated beyond its limits or it didn't set properly during the curing...
Let's be clear, General tires are nowhere NEAR superior to the Pirellis on the truck. New tires will always be better than your worn set. A good quality tire will wear and maintain a large percentage of the performance from new.
Michelin and Pirelli are the top dogs. Michelin is the best tire...
Spoke to a Rivian engineer over the weekend.
He stated that if Rivian decides to release oem running boards, the vehicles would have to be retested by the EPA for range and efficiency and possibly go through another round of crash tests.
He said, aftermarket is the way to go for right now...
Wow, finally a thread where someone isn't complaining about the lack of a name brand stereo, or having to wait for their order, or their tires wearing out too fast, or that Tesla does "XYZ" better.
Y'all complain way too much. I have owned countless exotics and luxury vehicles and the Rivian...
Air suspension will fail once the air struts become dry and brittle from age or a puncture occurs.
Cycling your suspension up and down is not going to cause the struts to fail unless they have been sitting and are already dry and brittle.
They are designed to be used. All cars with air...
Couldn't agree more. What's the point in having 835hp if you're top speed is lower than a Corolla's.
Not asking for 150mph here, but 125-130 would be fantastic.
I'm having a repeated issue where my contacts and their numbers are not showing up properly on the UI.
My contacts sometimes show names, sometimes just numbers, and often times calls don't appear on screen until phone has been ringing for a long while.
Had this issue with the following...
This is common, they need to realign the radar sensor on the front of the truck to reduce its wave width. This takes lots of R&D and the SC's don't have this ability/training as of yet. A fix will come.
It took Mercedes years to get this right.
Air suspension is always noisy, but I agree these are noisier than usual.
Service center said everything is to spec.
We must also take into account that we don't have ICE's making noise. Much harder to keep an EV quiet. Even the wiper motor seems loud due to cabin insulation.
I'm at 15,200 miles, June delivery. Didn't drive it for 45 days.
All commute miles in Los Angeles traffic.
Feels great thus far, except for the unwanted wheel shake at 80mph+.
Have driven both, still has so much tire. 22's are still very smooth. The performance tires are worth getting, improved tire noise levels and handling.
