R1T Tailgate Pad arrives in the Gear Shop

Yes, You can adjust where the cover stops by adjusting the stopping point with the button. It makes a good seal most times.

R1T Tailgate Pad arrives in the Gear Shop

$200 is reasonable, especially since this is a custom product that's being produced for a very limited market. If the inside liner is soft - like microfiber, (Fox uses - micro-brushed inner lining to keep your tailgate scratch-free,) it shouldn't leave any scratches or marks. I've used...

R1T Tailgate Pad arrives in the Gear Shop

i’ve been using MTB tailgate pads for years and haven’t had any issues. They are way easier than hitch, roof, and bed carriers . The downside is that you lose your bed for carrying other cargo.

R1T Tailgate Pad arrives in the Gear Shop

I just ordered mine! Looks so well designed from the early videos I watched. I'm a little worried about the padding as well (compared to my Fox Pad), but given the well thought-out features and how easy it looks to install, I can't imagine that they would make a mistake with the amount of...

Rivian Adventure Network: What's been your experience so far?

I’ve used Manteca, Sacramento, Bishop, and Truckee multiple times (Barstow once). I’m so impressed with all these locations and their dependability. My experience with EA and other charging stations has been a mixed bag. Rivian has made my longer trips in California 100% better and less...

Official Rivian Bike Pad for R1T Tailgate - First Look! 🚴‍♀️ (updated w/ photos in use)

Great points! There are really nice differences with this pad if you watch the video closely. Watch how they attach the corners to the tailgate. Maybe a design engineer can figure-out a way to eliminate the straps, but for me it’s not a big deal. They have streamlined the process with the...

Official Rivian Bike Pad for R1T Tailgate - First Look! 🚴‍♀️ (updated w/ photos in use)

I’ve been through a few MTB pads over the years and the Rivian straps look way easier to attach.. What would make this quicker and easier for you? Maybe Rivian could design an integrated buckle system into the tailgate somehow, but I’m not sure how you get rid of all the straps. I install and...

Official Rivian Bike Pad for R1T Tailgate - First Look! 🚴‍♀️ (updated w/ photos in use)

I've owned several MTB tailgate pads over the years and this pad is super well designed. The design eliminates the awkward installation by adding fabric corners to the bottom of the pad that attach to the tailgate (so the pad doesn't fall forward) during installation - brilliant! In addition...

R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

Thank you! I Thank you! I will check our state laws, but we’re not expecting a state deduction. I find all of this to be pretty unclear. Hope you find the perfect R1S!

R1S Shop access live with lots of inventory!

We're searching too. I see that you are searching for something under $80K. Are you a pre-2022 order? Did you sign a BPA last August? I can't find anything on the IRS website (under 2022 tax EV credits) that says that you need to buy under $80K to meet the 2022 EV tax credit. Has anyone...

No tax credit for Rivian (effective April 18, 2023)

We are just starting this process with our R1S through the shop. We did the BPA contract before 8/16/22. Our guide stated that we need to keep it under 80K. Is this correct? I’m not seeing a dollar requirement under 2022 rules, Only 2023. Did you keep it under $80K for your purchase...

Scary Experience With Windshield Wipers -- Not Fast Enough to Clear Falling Snow and Splashed Water

Oh man that one takes the cake! So glad you were close to an exit! Donner Pass has a way of testing any vehicle during a storm. For your wipers, have you tried a software reboot? That might clear the problem if it’s not mechanical. As you read in my post above I have some concerns about...

Scary Experience With Windshield Wipers -- Not Fast Enough to Clear Falling Snow and Splashed Water

Thanks for your comments. I've put 12K on my R1T during the past 7 months and been through some bad weather along the way. When I compare this wiper system to our GL450, or my past RAM 4X4, I think it's under powered for serious down-pours and snow storms. For me, I also find the small lever...

Scary Experience With Windshield Wipers -- Not Fast Enough to Clear Falling Snow and Splashed Water

I wish I had that problem! There may be some inconsistencies between vehicles. My past vehicles wipers were way faster too.

Scary Experience With Windshield Wipers -- Not Fast Enough to Clear Falling Snow and Splashed Water

My family and I were driving home from Tahoe on HWY 80 this past week in moderate traffic and we had a scary moment along the way. We were heading west in light to medium snow-fall - nothing too serious, but enough to require chain controls, slower speeds and attentive driving. We make this...
