Powered Tonneau Permanent Fix Coming in March?! "Rivian called - Permanent fix expected in March" -- per The Kilowatts

Get a can of dry silicone and spray it right in the rails. This will minimize the chance of binding. I spray mine about every 2 months.

Powered Tonneau Permanent Fix Coming in March?! "Rivian called - Permanent fix expected in March" -- per The Kilowatts

They could indeed be ready by March, if they are not trying to re-invent the wheel. The overall design is quite ingenious, they have two challenges: Single-side drive Poor QC on slider widths. I have posted these pictures before, but for those that have not seen the "inner workings" of where...

Rivian Email: Update on the Tonneau Cover for Your R1T

Interesting. I would assume (deliberate use of the word) that the spot for the powered cover is just empty space.

Rivian Email: Update on the Tonneau Cover for Your R1T

I guess my point with the level of effort is that it is probably going to be costly to have them install a powered Tonneau cover after the fact. I am including two pictures....you can see how the shelf is set up for the cover...which is where I assume the manual one fits as well. I would be...

Rivian Email: Update on the Tonneau Cover for Your R1T

I dont no why you couldn't subsequently get the power tonneau cover. The power unit is self-contained and would imagine the manual cover takes up the exact same space. Installing a new power tonnoeau cover is quite a project...took a technician 4+ hours to replace mine and there are qutie a...

Introducing RMaxx Running Boards & Rock Sliders for Rivian R1T / R1S from Team 1EV

I am sold on it. I love the pucks and based on my chat with them, the installation uses existing mounts. You do need to remove the exterior plastic piece on the frame, and the boards have new jack-points for the pucks. seems like they have it covered. I will post full install details once...

Conserve Mode Efficiency Improved? Rivian R1T real world range on a 900 plus mile trip averaged 2.7+ miles/kWh

Hi Jeb, I didnt take any official measurements. I was looking at the relative depth at the wear indicator bars and the front tires looked to be lower, even to the naked eye....so I swapped them. At about 9000 miles now...both front and rear look ok.

Conserve Mode Efficiency Improved? Rivian R1T real world range on a 900 plus mile trip averaged 2.7+ miles/kWh

All front wheel drive cars wear front tires faster, just like rear-wheel wear the back faster. Add to the fact that now all your "braking" is in the front as well since the rear motors are disengaged and you have the potential for faster wear. I may be putting more to this, but just giving my...

Not just a missing center cap after all. Yikes. (Lost bolt that holds the axel to the hub)

I am at about 8300 miles and just lost the bolt on my driver's side. So mad at myself for not checking sooner as I read this thread awhile ago. Luckily I already have an appointment for Tuesday for the recall so now I have them fix this as well.

Conserve Mode Efficiency Improved? Rivian R1T real world range on a 900 plus mile trip averaged 2.7+ miles/kWh

I had been using conserve mode pretty exclusively, but changed to All-purpose when around town...tire wear was the primary reason. I rotated my 21's at just under 5000 miles and the front were visibly more worn. The delta for the electricity cost is far less than having to replace all 4 tires...

    My Key Fob Mod

That is a great idea! Even if it fades over time, it should be easy to do again.

Rivian to Layoff 5% of Non-Manufacturing Workforce

I take this as a good sign. They are recognizing their fluctuating needs and making appropriate changes...the sign of a data-driven, mature company. I agree that it sucks for those affected, and I hope they find work quickly, but overall it means Rivian is making sound decisions based on need.

    Any "March-April" delivery people contacted?

I reserved in 12/2018. I was notified about 1 month ago by my guide, Katy, that I would be looking at a July to September delivery date. I was quick to respond and started my 8-step process....and they are now delivering my R1T next Saturday (4/23). Nothing special - Adventure, LA Silver..but...

Delivery Experience (So far) for New England

New to the group...so thanks for the forum. I have had an R1T Adventure on order since December 2018. I had minimal communication until about 1 month ago when Katie at Rivian reached out as my guide. She has been very helpful so far and answers emails within 4-8 hours. Initial expectation...
