I have yet to do a real long highway journey since the update but I'm pretty convinced in the 30-40 miles I've done so far that the latest software update has dramatically improved softness when the truck is in conserve/lowest.
There have been a lot of reports of poor ride quality in lowest...
If pre price hike there are two possibilities:
-You love it and keep a great truck for years.
- You don’t love it, sell it and make ~$20k
That’s quite a win/win!
Do you have pre-price hike pricing? If so, it’s kind of a no brained as you can easily profit $20k including the tax rebate (if taking it in 2022).
As for the quality of the truck….I took delivery of mine a week ago and it’s exceeded my expectations. Like you, I had concerns about build...
VIN 14xxx, took delivery 12/10.
Maybe it’s my untrained eye but I’ve not noticed any issues at all in terms of build quality.
I have noticed the heated steering wheel only gets warm for a couple minutes then really dies down. Turning it off and on again repeats the cycle. Is this normal...
Hello! Just placed an order for a single puck. Any idea how long it will take to get to Orange County, CA? Was planning a road trip just after Xmas and am hoping it’ll be here by then.
Thanks in advance!
When I had guide contact she said the same (truck at factory, wait for shipping). Then on 12/7 she reached out and said it was already at my local service center (Costa Mesa, CA).
I guess it depends on the shipping schedule but I wouldn't be surprised at all if you take delivery in 2022!
Final update for me - took delivery on Saturday, 12/10!
Also want to let you guys know that this vehicle has exceeded my super high expectations. Well worth the agonizing wait!
Well I’m evidence it could be very quick!
I guess it depends on how/how often the trucks are transported from the plant. Maybe ask your guide if there’s an update on the truck’s location.
Have you finished the 8 steps?
When I had my call with the guide about a week ago, she said the car was in Normal and to expect up to a couple of weeks for it to travel to Costa Mesa.
But then she texted me yesterday saying it had arrived in the Service Center already.
She then said it would have to be inspected. I was...
Wild week here…
12/1 - Confirm configuration, 8 steps, guide assigned, VIN assigned
12/2 - Intro call with Guide
12/7 - Finished 7/8 Steps
12/8 - Vehicle ready for pick up email. Scheduled for 12/10!!!
From nothing but Jan-Feb window to delivery appointment in a single week!
I got the email to confirm configuration Thursday and after doing so I immediately got a VIN and 8 steps along with a guide. Was surprised...guide was surprised I had a VIN during our intro call too.
After looking up the VIN, my guide said the truck is still in Illinois - but to expect it to...
Theres nothing wrong with a company pivoting into a new plan if they think it’s more efficient…that’s not “changing their narrative”.
There’s only a lot to piece together if you deliberately ignore Rivian’s messaging. Otherwise is pretty plainly laid out.
Can we stop with the weird conspiracy theories? “They want to hit 25,000” “They want less competition so trucks first!” “They want more full price orders!”
That’s all nonsense…Let’s look at what Rivian has actually stated and what we can see…
Rivian said they are going to focus even more...
Because of my situation I doubt this.
My Jan 22 R1T order got a window of Jan-Feb 23 - location is Irvine…which has the highest concentration of Rivians on the planet.
There’s no service center more busy than the ones down here and it didn’t delay my window.
If we try to parse what we're seeing...
- R1T orders (large battery) have gotten decent windows, some moved up earlier than expected
- Max pack delayed to 2024
- Many but not all R1S delayed to 2024
- Some orders are pending Service Center or "full service" capability in the area
It seems to me...
