I've bought quite a few vehicles out of state, and have never paid sales tax. Generally, if the state that is your legal address does not collect sales tax, the dealer just collects payment with temp tag fees, dealer prep, etc. and sends you out the door with the paperwork that you need to...
I was gonna try. I always expected that I would need to travel to pick up the truck, so no big deal to catch a flight to SLC and drive it home (only 6 hours).. I do wonder how any service issues would be handled though as I'm not sure the mobile service up here is quite as good as Tesla. I see...
It's always been "processing estimate" but an early call to customer service I was initially told Dec '22 - Jan '23. I've seen a few Rivians up here in Bozeman, so clearly they are delivering here but the email many of us got last year indicates that they are delaying shipments to those of us...
Dayum - Just probed a little deeper using graphicq and located my estimated delivery for my R1T ordered in Jan '22 to be July - December 2024. That's quite a bit longer than what I thought it would be (No max pack). Probably because I'm no where close to a SC.
Thanks for the insight as an owner of both. That makes me feel better. I have another ZR2 (2023) on order as well as a Rivian order that's over a year now, and figure I might take the first that comes available since driving a Sprinter van in the Montana winters isn't much fun. Need a truck!
I'm reading this thread with interest, but curious if the complaint on ride quality is just that it's "rough" and "Jarring" or that it feels loose and clunky? I'm more concerned about the later as any suspension clunking or rattling drives me nuts. I personally like a firm ride, and the gold...
I live in Montana and last time I purchased a vehicle out of state the person at the DMV was explaining that MT is aware of the LLC tax avoidance play and are taking steps to prevent it. Specifically she was talking about RV's but I would assume that it would also catch other vehicles as well...
The only ICE vehicle we have left in our family is a 4x4 Sprinter van. Once you drive EV, it's hard to go back to ICE. And after my last trip in the van which cost $500+ in fuel, I'm glad we don't often visit the gas station anymore.
Bad form Rivian.... Bad form. The honorable thing would have been to hold prices for reservation holders and increase from this point forward for all new orders.
I suspect RIvian is going to lose a lot of reservations with a bump this big... and a fair amount of goodwill as well.
