  1. Gen 1 vs Gen 2 Observations

I also am driving a loaner Tri while my Gen1 quad has front left control arm replaced for broken bushing. My observations: not good: squeaky door handles to the point of being ridiculous, turn signal sound is like somebody in the frunk is knocking with a knuckle, not like a little tom musical...
  2. What is R2 wheel bolt pattern and offset?

I wonder if rim width, bolt pattern and offset are the same or compatible with R1 wheels? I know the tire size is different of course.
  3. Strange windshield defrost behavior.

My defrost started to behave strangely. It does not start blowing right away. After a couple minutes it starts and then quickly fades to nothing. I had a bad icing issue with freezing drizzle last night driving home. I do not recall it doing this before the latest update. Puzzled.

I had red light after Halloween update with Gen 3 Tesla charger. Had to register charger with tesla by connecting to WIFi (never had it connected for 2 years and it just worked) and enabled "compatibility" mode in the settings menu. That fixed the problem.
  6. Using external electric heater to keep battery warm overnight.

Did anyone give a thought about using an external heater to keep the battery warm overnight in the garage when the weather is freezing? I am looking at the towel heater in my bathroom mounted on the wall. It is 24 x 32“ in size. What if I place it on the floor under the battery? Would it do any...
  7. And I thought I could give Darren McGavin a run for his money!!!...tire change fun

I ditched the jack and puck method. Too unstable and cumbersome IMHO. I place the bottle jack with a little piece of plywood on top under the lower arm next to the wheel. It is easily accessible from the back or the front of the raised vehicle. This way you jack it up a little, just to lift the...
  8. Rivian: “We made our first R1S deliveries last week to RJ and our CFO Claire”

Do we know if R1S will have a compressor?
