  1. Issues at L3 chargers

I agree with others guessing the likely culprit is EA. I've rarely gotten even close to the claimed max rate on their 350kW units, including when starting at <20% SOC. Sometimes it ramps up a bit, sometimes only drops. A few months back I plugged into a 150kW (again, under 20%SOC) and was only...
  2. Introducing RMaxx Running Boards & Rock Sliders for Rivian R1T / R1S from Team 1EV

Glad to hear that production has picked up. I've seen a lot of discussion in the past few pages regarding rock sliders... is it safe to assume your production has also picked up for running boards as well? Specifically, I'm hoping to have my order (89xx) for R1S running boards installed in Van...
  3. Cybertruck can power your home ?

We have two EVs and I'm finally pulling the trigger on installing a second charger to make cable management easier. I looked at hardwired options due to California incentives and found that the Tesla wall charger shows VtH capability (they call it Powershare)...
  4. Gas fans who think EVs are impractical because of lack of charging stations...

I always laugh when the same people who complain about how long charging takes will sit in a 30 minute line at Costco on a random Sunday
  5. There are people with R1Ses without any issues right?

Picked mine up two days ago. One window has some scratches from transport, but a: rivian will fix it eventually, b: things happen, and c: itā€™s barely noticeable and I probably wouldnā€™t worry about it were it not a free fix. Otherwise, any ā€œproblemsā€ are really just adjustmentable settings.
  6. California Cargo Crossbars BNIB - Central Coast CA

Still selling? I'm in LA area.
  7. R1S pre-price increase owners - What R1S configuration would you get if ordering today?

Three (functional) row EV: only realistic options are R1S, MX, and EX90. If I didnā€™t have pre-hike pricing and both were available to me at the same time, I would buy the Volvo in a heartbeat.
  8. Rivian R1S Family Road Trip Test in the Colorado Mountains -- by Inside Hook

The size discussion was all I needed. His use case: three row family driving with a small amount of ā€œadventurousā€ is exactly the same as mine.
  9. Poll- Will the delivery updates release as promised (end of October?)

My specific prediction: Email apology will come out 10/31 between 4pm-midnight Pacific Actual update to accounts will roll out 11/7 The longer this goes on the more competitors will be available. Mercedes just sent me an email to configure an EQB. I forgot about that upcoming option or that I...
  10. Spotted: 25+ R1T and R1S at Atlanta Service Center - Lots of colors and configs!

I really dislike the trim along the roofline of the R1S. However, it's much less noticeable in your photos than on the Rivian website. Is it more a white or chrome color? I configured LA Silver for my R1S after seeing the R1T colors up close... I may have to change to GW if it makes that trim...
  11. Any R1S 1H 2023 delivery windows have an updated delivery date yet?

Same. Wasnā€™t counting on an update. I got a survey from rivian a few weeks ago and basically said I canā€™t recommend others to purchase because of the lack of communication Iā€™ve received especially considering the consistent delays.
  12. Official email from Rivian offering Binding Purchase Agreement

Haven't read through all 11 pages to see if this is original but... The link is not individualized, nor is the binding contract that you can save or print. All that's added is a date (and not time) stamp. So... this is really just a pdf generic agreement that they are providing to use however...
  13. Toll Tag Transponders / Rivian Windshields

I was told by Tesla long ago (2014) that the reason is the metallic coating and there was a specific area not coated (I donā€™t remember where as I sold it in 2017) My wifeā€™s Sienna and my LEAF both indicate in the owners manual the coating is why. They show an image of where to place...
  14. Rural Charging Question

Agreed. You need to figure out whatā€™s actually wired. Then replace with the proper receptacle. At that point, $200-$300 on Amazon will get you an EVSE specifically designed for that receptacle and expected power. No fault of anyone here, but In general, I donā€™t understand everyone focusing on...
  15. Home Charging Question

If youā€™re already charging via a 10-30 outlet and donā€™t need to charge faster, just buy a Level 2 EVSE (output to J1772) and it will charge any EV. Theyā€™re about $200 on Amazon. This would also be an option, much more elegant, give you faster charging if you ever need it, and depending on your...
  16. Paid for Truck today

This might have been true two years ago. Dealers regularly get customers to purchase a vehicle sight unseen for high demand vehicles. I signed a purchase agreement on my last car and had to wait two weeks for it to be delivered from the factory. Vehicle was built, had a VIN and I was even able...
  17. When your Federal EV Tax Credit of $7,500 is worth much less ...

Yes. Lower withholding if you plan to have significantly diminished liability (due to a credit or otherwise). That way YOU keep your money instead of Uncle Sam taking it every month to just send it back in April. Althoughā€¦ if you were keeping your money in RIVN, maybe it would have been better...
  18. When your Federal EV Tax Credit of $7,500 is worth much less ...

Anyone with regular, W-2 reported income who can afford an $80k vehicle will almost certainly be able to take advantage. As discussed earlier, something in the range of $100k gross income would be likely to have liability of >$7500. Maybe Iā€™m missing something? Are people in that income range...
  19. Extra "can of gas"... for EVs

As someone who has owned three different EVs (Tesla, Honda, Nissan), I agree 100%. The miles of range readout, and even SoC is certainly not exact but itā€™s so much more precise than a fuel gauge. As you get to know the vehicle, you develop a sense of what types of driving will deplete that...
  20. 350KW Charging that has Worked Everytime vs. Shell Recharge 50kw (60% success rate with Shell)

I know it will take time for understanding to be widespread, but just like the gas station charges by gallons not miles, electricity needs to be measured in kWh (analogous to gallons) and kW (gasoline flow rate). Just like a civic can go twice as far as an F150 on 10 gallons. My Leaf will go at...
