  1. Multiple Errors // Update Version 2023.42.1

Mine did the same. Still had speedometer, but everything else was missing until restart finished. After everything came back the truck seemed fine. Definitely disconcerting for a minute!
  2. Does the tonneau cover effect range much?

Mythbusters did an episode on this once. They found that without a cover a pocket of air ā€œsets upā€ in the bed of the truck. They couldnā€™t tell any efficiency difference between the two setups. But, donā€™t drop the tailgate, lowering the tailgate when the bed wasnā€™t covered DID drop efficiency...
  3. Seat Modifications or Aftermarket Seats

I hated that space in the seat also, and was thinking about modifications. Magically sometime in the last 8 months Iā€™ve had the truck I just stopped noticing it. My recommendation would be to give it a little time before making any drastic adjustments!
  4. Show off your dashcam memory card install

I havenā€™t been able to get the Anker to work consistently (ordered from Amazon). It formatted and passed all the tests and I recorded a short video. Left the truck and came back and it said no card was setup. If I pull the microsd card and put it back into the anker the truck recognizes it...
  5. load sharing, hardwiring, and charging speed

    1) yes, 60 amps to get 48 to the truck. So if you actually want both charging at the same time you need 120 amps. 2) based on your answer to 3 if you really want 120 amps it will be FAR cheaper to run a sub panel to the garage with aluminum service wire and then put two 60 amp breakers in the...
  6. Brake light function with one pedal driving?

As others have noted it is based off of the amount of deceleration so if you only gently let up on the pedal the lights donā€™t always turn on. One thing to note is once you are driving in the truck the dash display WILL show you if the brake lights are on.
  7. Building a new home, charging advice

It should be far cheaper to run a single sub-panel (120A+/-) with aluminum service wire instead of two runs of copper. That also give you the flexibility to run different types of loads instead of just 2 EV chargers since you have a full panel in the garage.
  8. Frame Comparison : Rivian R1T vs. Ford F150 Lightning -- Munro Teardown YT

I did the factory tour and was able to watch them building the long side panels which is built up by welding small pieces together. The long side panels are built by machines, there is no person labor time involved. For the side panels there are two lines, left and right. Each starts with the...
  9. 39.1 messed up radio functionality

I can imagine 2 helpful favorites settings 1) order preference, manual or automatic by frequency. If manual should be able to long press and then drag the stations to a new spot in the grid (obviously only allow edits while parked) 2) ā€œhomeā€ setting. when near home (X mile radius) the...
  10. ā›”ļø Powered Tonneau cover removed from R1T production until further notice on all future deliveries

MythBusters did a show on this; the bed being open doesnā€™t hurt range. If I remember correctly their explanation was a bubble of air ā€œsettlesā€ in the truck bed and acts in a way similar to having an actual cover.
  11. What are the chances the changes to OC and Explore might speed up delivery date estimates?

It would have been easier if they had started that way, but they currently have a spot on the truck that the tonneau cover slides into so they would need to design some type of rail that slots into where the existing tonneau cover used to sit when it is open. The reason they aren't doing this...
  12. 3D printer peeps: models of Rivian interior spaces?

Itā€™s actually still free after a year, they just make you go through a little bit of pain to get your subscription going again. It stops being free after you start making X amount of money from using fusion 360 (I donā€™t remember what the amount is).
  13. Wheels: I switched from 21 to 20

Yes the 20s are forged. In the "01 Capability"/"Performance", then click the "Explore Performance" button: We offer two designs for the 20" wheel, both of which are forged and machined for a superior strength-to-weight ratio.
  14. Rivian's Future

Actually at this point it really doesn't matter what Jim Farley says, legally they (and any other pre-IPO holders) can't sell until 180 days after the IPO which is May 2022. And I can assure you Rivian doesn't (and at this stage really shouldn't) care about their stock price. Rivian made money...
  15. Rivian to ramp up production to 200 a week (per Bloomberg)

The last week of October 2021 they made 104 (based on SEC filings). 200 is not a stretch. The article points to "people familiar with the issue" which is journalism speak for anyone that would throw out a number to us. The article is just trying to drive clicks and isn't bringing any new...
  16. Rivian to ramp up production to 200 a week (per Bloomberg)

Considering they were at 100 the last week of October this is kind of a non-story The last week of October they were able to produce 104 (back from the S1 filings for the IPO). 200 isnā€™t exactly a stretch. This isnā€™t really news based on ā€œpeople familiar with the matterā€. Instead itā€™s random...
  17. Power vents

I wouldnā€™t worry about a servo. As long it is properly specced for the weight to move the vent they will last plenty long enough. For comparison think about a good 3d printer (or rc car steering) which can easily run without maintenance and ā€œnon-stopā€ for years.
  18. I’m backkkkk. What do you want to see / know?

Iā€™m not sure why itā€™s disappointing? It will never be as big as a full size truck since itā€™s a foot and a half shorter, but a Ridgeline and R1T isnā€™t small or cramped.
  19. I’m backkkkk. What do you want to see / know?

I have a Ridgeline and when I sat in the R1T at the event in Normal, IL it felt very similar.
