  1. R2 Highway Efficiency Test: 80 MPH vs 70 MPH Changed Everything

Personally, I'm not in it for speed - I'll jump onto an airplane for that. I prefer to drive on two-lane highways with less traffic and much better views. So my average speed is 65-70, which also helps because the distances between charging stations increase when you are off the Interstates...
  2. R2 cargo area air flow for dogs

    OH yes, definitely "says"
  3. R2 cargo area air flow for dogs

Excuse me? And where is the cat love? 🐈 Just trying to add some levity to a post that is getting really serious. By the way, Mochi, my co-pilot, roams the entire car. I can't wait to get my R2 and try out pet mode. She's ok with fresh (warm) air but says she would prefer it to be cooled.
  4. R2 Highway Efficiency Test: 80 MPH vs 70 MPH Changed Everything

Yup. My ID4 is rated at 255 miles, but on the few times when it was necessary, I have coaxed it over 300 miles by slowing to 55mph.
  5. Finished R2 demo test drive? Share your review / impressions

Blind spot cameras work great. No need to use mirrors when parking Acceleration is what everyone’s talking about. Great map, responsive. Once I had zoomed out then when we got to a navigational turn it did not zoom back in (I expected it to) so I almost missed it. Voice nav is great. Adjusted...
  6. R2 range based on ABRP (implied highway ranges)

Yes that's the third component: Driving Speed Number of stops Charging speed as function of SOC
  7. R2 range based on ABRP (implied highway ranges)

Thanks, yes, that would make sense with a relatively straight speed-to-range line. But with the R2, the faster you go, the greater the drag in relation to other more aerodynamic cars. So I was wondering if there is a point at which increased speed exceeds decreased range. Just wondering.
  8. R2 range based on ABRP (implied highway ranges)

Thanks. I use ABRP, and it has an option called 'fastest,' but you have to set your own max speed in settings. I'm looking for the optimal speed to drive at that will get me to my destination as quickly as possible. (I am not familiar with Rivian's nav component, but look forward to it! I...
  9. R2 range based on ABRP (implied highway ranges)

Slightly off topic but does ABRP show the most efficient speed to drive at, that will get me there fastest? I.e. combining speed with charging time with number of charging stops, accounting for extra time required to set up each charge (typically 5~10 minutes from the highway before and after)
  10. R2 range based on ABRP (implied highway ranges)

This matches the curve posted by another person recently (can't find his post) - which also shows 330 miles at 60 mph on 21", and 400 miles at 50 mph. I'm guessing it falls apart somewhere between 60 and 50 mph but would be very interested to see if the 400@50 is doable because that would be...
  11. R2 Three Day Ownership Review. Comparison to R1T. Efficiency and Range data!

The roofing membrane material is a great idea thanks. As a layman, could you recommend a specific material to use? And also the dimension you used for cutting it? Don't quite your day job yet but this is really good stuff. Thanks agin.
  12. Ketchum: Wait for LiDAR? - The Rivian R2 LiDAR story isn’t what you think

Am I weird because my idea of a road trip is driving?
