Thanks for all the info everyone. I thought maybe the batteries were toast - but maybe not. Apparently some (or a lot) of these speakers had a defective BMS.
Trying an iPad charger - might be able to get this thing going again.
I see Rivian says the batteries aren’t replaceable. So much for...
Thanks, Rob. I did see your post at some point - appreciate the link. I'll probably hook it up like my motorcycles - connect to the battery terminals, then run a NoCo extension cable out to the grill or by the tow hook. I have a few NoCo chargers that sort of hang out near where I park at home...
Thanks - good to know you got that sorted in time.
Went back through entire vehicle history today - looking for the condensate "drain valve" replacement. Apparently that didn't happen... wet carpet...
T manufacture date is March 13, 2023. First battery replacement (2nd battery) was January 31...
Thanks! Those visors don’t get close enough to the windshield to get the shade all the way up near the headliner. Briefly considered getting the sewing machine out and adding to the WeatherTech shade… didn’t happen.
I’m very pleased with the HeatShield shades.
Forgot to add in the last post -...
I got the Vion 2 piece glass roof shade (didn’t see the gray option) - that makes a big difference. Tried the WeatherTech windshield shade - it was too short to catch behind the headliner.
Got the HeatShield windshield, front row window and rear window shades - truck just dropped the inside...
That price is insane for those little batteries - even with the "Rivian premium"!!
I can buy 2 X2Power deep cycle group 27F batteries from BatteriesPlus+ for less than that! Too bad one of those bad boys doesn't fit in the Rivian. X2Power batteries are made in Springfield, Missouri by...
When I was at the SC last week, the tech told me the second gen Pirellis are a lot better. They cost more than the Hankooks - probably the "Rivian premium".
The T I bought in mid December 2025 had Pirellis dated 2024 - they obviously had more than the 500 miles showing in the dashboard. The truck pulled to the right - got an alignment in February - still pulled to the right. Checked the 3 brands available - Hankook had the best rating in every...
Good thing I had the windshield replaced with OEM at the SC. Turns out the Fuyao windshield (last owner) was very poorly installed (probably by Safelite). Fuyao supposedly makes the OEM windshield.
The loaner had the dreaded condensate leak - figured I'd check the T when I picked it up - it...
Is there fine print somewhere? Is drive train only motors and batteries? One would think everything between the battery and the wheels is part of the drive train.
Drive train issues on '22 to '24 quad motor large pack trucks are covered by the 8 year 175,000 mile warranty (from what I can see).
I took my '23 T in for windshield replacement last Friday - got a call today that they are replacing the front half shafts and hubs. Had a senior tech go for a...
I wonder if this is round 2 of preemptive battery replacement...
That said, I keep everything that can wake the truck turned off and keep a small (1 watt - I think) battery maintainer on when the T is parked. I saw (here on the forum) that a dead 12 volt battery will brick the truck - that got...
Now you're scaring me with that 3rd replacement! The last time I had the mats out, everything was dry - but I haven't checked for awhile. I'll definitely check while I'm at the SC.
I don't even have a clue where the damn drain is!! I figured it must be somewhere above all the underbody panels...
The chilewich mats are vapor permeable - they won’t trap moisture. The rubber mats are not vapor permeable.
If you want a good visual of what’s going on, get some clear plastic (cling wrap would do in a pinch), cut a square about 18” on a side, lay that on the carpet - not the mat. If you see...
I contacted ESI (Extruded Solutions Inc) after looking at all the different truck brands they make tailgate sealing kits for - including Hummer and Cyber. The response I got:
"Our head of installation contacted Rivian and visited their Illinois facility but unfortunately did not receive a...
Why Rivian batteries die...
One way to deal with phantom battery drain - and here's another way
I have Gear Guard and proximity sensor turned off - but every time I walk out the front door, the brake lights flash - apparently the truck is looking for the fob or the phone all the time.
I keep...
Rivian can email you all the info they have on the vehicle. Owner info will be redacted - but you’ll get all the truck info for everything done by Rivian.
